It's a very nice looking form, but that sword looks to big to be a dadao (to me at least).

Interesting, the subtitle is in Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian language). That compliments my poor command for mandarin lol.
This da dao looks different compared to a da dao used by the military. It looks more like the hanwei version of Chinese broadsword.
Also, am I alone in thinking that Chinese martial artist should use sturdier blades (and unsharpened of course, don't want to get injured) instead of whippy blades? Given my lack of experience in Chinese martial arts, I am in no position to criticize Chinese martial arts, just my 2 cents.

Wushu is the most wide seen Chinese Martial art, but only because it is flashy. It uses whippy words to try and impress spectators. That is why IMO that person is using a whippy or "Wushu" blade.

Technically, Da Dao just translates to "big blade." On a side note, "dao" is actually pretty broad, covering anything designed for the cut. Kitchen knives and butter knives are dao and scissors are also dao, called "jian dao" or snipping blade.
Anyhow, as I understand it, there were many Da Dao, that is to say extra large dao, created. This one is to showcase the Ba Gua dao form. The military Da Dao is simply another big blade among many big blades created in Chinese MA history.

Actually, that looks to be a Da Dao - Niu Wei (Ox Tail) Dao hybrid in Wushu steel. There are historical examples of such hybrid weapons but they were not common. That's actually what I'm saving up to have Jin-Shi make for me but in functional steel.
Anyway, here's a good broadsword form that can be used for both the Ox Tail and Da Dao.
