Hey. lately I've been trying to expand my collection of blades a bit further than -just- swords, their still my favorite weapons but i gotta have more than that.
And so , I'm looking for a good pair of Kama, I'm having a hard time finding some affordable Kama from a site i can actually trust, and of course they must be functional =P who'd want a blade they could not have some fun with ?
So yeah, just asking you guys and gals here at the SBG forum if you know where i can get my hands on a good pair of Kama without breaking the bank.
a pair of them would be best but if the only good ones are sold 1 each that will work fine too =P
thanks in advanced guys and gals. really love how much help this forum has been since day one.

Try the hanwei kama- they come for left hand, and right hand. Most places list them for 100$~ each.

Hanwei also makes an iron weight for your kama for about $15,- The only thing you will have to get elsewhere is a chain to connect both.

Don't buy the 'iron weight'.
I think of it as a rip-off. Just get a steel ball from a metal shop and connect it to the chain.
I own Hanwei Kama, great quality. Cut milk bottles and pool noodles, and use them for Kobudo. I recommend them fully.
Thanks, -Tajima

Thanks for all the help guys looks like i'm going Hanwei with this one. as for the iron weight im gonna get a steel ball like Tajima mentioned but im gonna wait a while before i try to turn my kama into a Kusari-gama, i think i'll get used to the blade before i make it even harder to use lol i hear they are -really- complicated at first and hard to master. tho that makes it even more fun to figure out thanks again everyone

Tajima, is the weight really bad (not functional)? Or do you think its overpriced? I've got the kama and iron weight on my 'wish-list', and would probably most likely use it as a wallhanger, but still like to know that I could use it.

Hey, Very slow reply, but I think of course it will be functional, and it is very pretty. But...even though it isn't ridiculously expensive, I can't justify spending the extra money on something I can get for so cheap. Not really worth it, and when you factor in shipping...
Thanks, -Tajima

Thanks for the reply anyway, I'm not really put off by the price and a steel ball just wouldn't have any ornamental value. As for the shipping, my (local) favourite online sword store has free shipping within the Netherlands

I'll do a review on some very affordable Kama's for you! give me a little bit of time to get it up.
