Hi Guys, In some of you aren't aware; For any Japanese sword lovers or History buffs here in Northern California, Or anyone that has the ability and desire to take the trip: At the San Francisco Asian Art Museum starting June, there will be a main exhibit of Samurai cultural Items on loan from Japan. A rather large array from what I have read so far, and of course they will have some Nihonto, and other fittings. Details can be found here: asianart.org/samurai.htmThey are hosting an Opening Gala as well, Invitations can be found on the website, Not certain If anyone is Interested in Black Tie exhibit openings but It does have a viewing prior to the official open date I will be spending a fair amount of time there, I will hit it at least 4 or 5 times while it's showing. Hope to see some of you there! -Reisz

Sounds like a good time! Maybe it will come to Washington D.C. sometime, 'cause it looks like I'd enjoy it.

Ah... yet another reason to wish I was back home in NorCal instead of stuck here in Georgia, the armpit of the country.

My girlfriend and I live near SF; we'll visit at least once. Apparently they had a guy dressed in armor at the Cherry Blossom Festival; I was there both weekends! How did I miss him !? --Edward

Thanks Reisz, That actually overlaps with the schedule of the San Francisco Token Kai August 13-16. I haven't been to one yet, but it sounds like a Token Kai is like going to a museum where you can TOUCH the swords, ask questions of experts, and even hear some lectures about swords. Sounds like a good time to visit SF

The weather's nice...it's the folks here that stink. Aside from you, Maz, my fellow New Mexican. But, like you, Howler, I do wish I could be there to see that exhibit. It sounds awesome. Thanks for the post Reisz!

Or how about Okla hell homa? Great weather except for June through September, especially July and August, where it often is hotter than Death Valley?

Maybe...but one chock full of hot, available and in many cases slutty women! I spent a month down there one summer, Sun Microsystems had a course package that I took advantage of (company forks out something like $20k and I basically get a month long, all expenses paid party out of the deal)...I almost didn't make it back home. I spent a majority of my time in Buckhead at one particular intersection- if you know where Bell Bottoms is, you know where I was.

Well none of you lot have been to Broome or to the Northern Territory I assume, the anal sphincter of the world, all there is for mile after mile is dust, heat to boil the blood in your veins and bloody flies.

Sean, it sounds like you need to get out more...on second thought, perhaps not. I know I will not be visiting that area solo ever again! LOL
Now that I think of it, most of the women I met while down there (and I met A LOT) were transplants from somewhere else. But I always say, it ain where you're from but where you're at that counts.
At the time, I could've cared less where they were from, only where they were going. Heh.
