Hey guys,
just wondering if anyone has had any experience with the company from victoria called manning imperial. I was perusing their site today and found some really lovely swords and a few really unique ones and was wondering if anyone has any information or better yet experience with these swords. The sort of thing i am looking for is types of steel their blades are made out of, tang and whether they are sharp or not. They do not look sharp but that may be because the pictures are deceptive. Any help or info is appreciated.
TIA

I've had no experience with them, although the experienced myarmoury members seem to have favourable impressions. The problem that I see with these weapons is the price. Although that is AUS not US dollar, it is still pretty darn pricey. However, I think that, if they are the only top quality makers in your area, they'd be a good company to buy from IF you are willing to dish out the dough. I believe they DO come sharp by the way.
You're choice though. I'd personally rather spend less money on cheaper, durable swords or spend the same money on a historically correct albion.

Rammstein: yeah, i am quite ok with the dough, it's really a matter of just how well they are made as i really like the look of some of their weapons, especially the maciejowski (sp?) glaive. Considering what it was designed to do it would be a top notch cutter if made properly. I am really only looking to purchase 1 or 2 swords, much as i love them i dont have time to maintain more than that properly and my housemates might start giving me strange looks. However i am not content with stainless steal PoS swords because i like to work forms with my swords and even though there is no contact except the occasional light cutting, i still want one built properly to functional or "battle ready" standards. I really dont see their swords as being that pricy.
