G'day one and all,
I'm a 23 year old sword enthusiast who has been watching this website for some time now but never noticed a forum. Having read through the forum a bit and seeing just how good the content is, i decided to join. I have a deposit on my first sword but i am not sure if it is a beater or not, it's not even historically correct but it is is sub 300 USD. I have been looking at some of the generation 2's but not sure how easy it is to get them into australia.

Hey Hey, welcome to the forum. Just make sure the sword isn't longer than 42". Anything longer and good ol' Aus .post won't deliver it. Don't ask me why, we are all still lokking for an answer to that one ??

Hi Blood wraith. Cutting Edge handle Gen 2 in Australia. Go to www.cutting-edge-cutlery.com/They havent got the link for the Gen2 range set up yet - i think they changed hands or something. Just go to their email link and Tony will be able to source any Gen 2 stuff you want. He's getting my my first gen2 now - the 15th century single handed scottish sword. Mmmm. They are cheaper than getting anything shipped in from US shops - from what I could find out. Cheers

Hi guys,
I am looking at cutting edge cutlery and they are advertising at least the norman sword with blunt edges, are the generation 2's on that site blunt or sharp? I am a little confused.

Ignore those pics. I think they put them there just to show that they handle Gen 2. Look at the range of Gen 2 products at www.imperialweapons.com/ The stage combat ones are the blunt ones. Everything else is sharp I believe. Just pick what you want and email Tony at Cutting Edge for a quote. I'm sure you have seen Paul's and Tsafa's reviews. Cheers

actually the only thing that makes me not want that particular blade is...the wooden hilt. Any chance of this being remade? After seeing the earlier viking model crack, I think I'd rather have it leather wrapped...

Yeah the wooden handle tends to let your hand slide if the grip is longer than your hand. I have the problem with my Celtic Sword from Gen2. -Tim

What would be the best sword for someone who is roughly 6 ft 2 inches and has hands like a piano player? I.e long fingers but thinnish hands and weak wrists?

Re. My incoming 15th C scottish single hand - I'll be happy to give an impression for you when I get it. Still a couple of weeks away.
I had already considerred plans on covering the grip. I just wanted something nice in a single hand. The grip is just going to be a fun project.
