Excellent review on a prototype of one of my favorite swords of all time, I just love its overall look. I had the DSA Ranger once, when it had first come out...it was way too heavy for me, but I could appreciate its solid presence.

first off, you make a most excellent Boromir. And I think that he was portrayed in the movie as well as the book as a true hero. I have endured comments from friends that he was weak, greedy, shortsighted, etc. but did not pay them much mind knowing that they just did not absorb the "true qualities" of his character. I feel that the design of the sword is a great match to his strength and heart. DS did a great job in reproducing this original design, and I would like to think that his real sword would not be a piece of perfection but rather a more utilitarian extension of his being. Rough around the edges. I was also looking at that model for some time but I think I am more partial to Faramir's sword personally. (I am only 5'10, 175lbs) Anyway, great review and history Thanks!
