If the lorica is just shy of closing, lace the front first tight, then leave the slight opening in the back...it looks better and it allows a little air in. Also, a simply Roman cloak covers this.
If the lorica is too large, you may have to alter it; which takes awhile, but it simple to do. You will have to remove the lacing points, bandsaw off a couple inches on either side, then re-rivet the points. Again, not hard, it just takes some time.
The black spray paint is annoying, I just leave it and let it come off naturally when they treat it. Then I replace it with Rust Eater paint or laquer. You can also sandblast it and re-treat if you need to.
As for getting snagged on stuff...bust your your Dremel tool or file and smooth down the snags. The first time I wore Lorica, I looked like I had starred in the Passion of the Christ when I took my shirt off.
Bear with it. All can be fixed. No lorica is absolutely perfect and Roman soldiers had to alter their stuff too! ;D

I just found this same kind of armor on swordnarmory for $150. I'm thinking about ordering it, this thread was a couple of pages back so are there any new reviews or does anyone have any more experience that could recommend either this or a different armor in this price range?

That's not a bad deal, you would be hard pressed to get the materials along for that cost. I'd say it's worth the risk for the amount of chump change they want for it.

If it's too big at that price, take it to a machinist and work on pairing it down to fit. It'll be worth the cost. If it's too small, go to a machinist and work on getting additional plates to make it bigger. Again, it's worth it at that price.

IT should fit me fine. I wear a size 48, the upper bound on the armor, but I'm working to lose a little weight anyway. I'm more worried about the height, I'm a tad over six foot tall, it looks like it would work though and with the couple extra hours I picked up at work I have a little disposable cash to play with.

Easier to make it longer than to make just about any other adjustments.
