Hi all, I don't get over to this section of the forum very often but finally have something to post here again. This is a vid of some cutting with the Conan sword that Brenno and I made. Brenno's blade cuts really nice, as you'd expect.

Nice cutting Brotherbanzai. That poor pumpkin had no idea what was coming. Oh and your psychic powers are unparalleled in our community from what I can tell That is a real nice looking Conan sword too. Heavy, or not so much?

Very nice cutting Brotherbanzai! Those are fearsome fittings on a great looking sword, very intimidating. Excellent collaboration gentlemen!

Thanks wizzbang The sword weighs almost 6 1/2 pounds, so yeah it's pretty heavy but not unmanageable. Good workout for the forearms. Thanks Alvin The music is from the score to the movie Queen of the Damned, crappy movie but great score. Thanks shadowhowler , and I agree Brenno makes some really fantastic blades! Thanks djmahoney ;D and if I do say so myself, I'm pretty pleased with those fittings!

The fittings on that sword are excellent. Perfect fit to the movie sword. The sword looks quite heavy in the video, but it seems to cut effortlessly. Nice job. ... and I love the music.

Thanks ShooterMike ;D The sword is heavy to me but then I'm less Conan sized and more Subotai sized... ok fine, Valeria sized. But yeah, it cuts sooo easy. I'm really pleased with Brenno's blade, but in the near future I'll likely make one of my own. Brendan doesn't have access to steel any wider than the widest part of this blade, so it doesn't have the flared out area right at the shoulder that the movie sword has. I like that design element and we can get whatever width steel here in the states. Then I'll have two, sweet. Thanks Brian As an added bonus, the squirrels really like the pumpkin seeds. I just leave them scattered everywhere and they eat em up.

Well sure he's on the cutting stand, that's where a bunch of the seeds ended up. The three little white lines visible on the stand before him are the edges of seeds he's already eaten. Don't worry, the little skinny crack squirrels we have down here are too fast to cut...I'm guessing. Possums, on the other hand...

I'd like to see someone sparring with a sword of that weight.

Thanks RicWilly ;D Thanks Seth Yeah, not cheap but the amount of labor $ Brenno and I put into making two (one for each of us) would be about equal in cost to one of the "real" ones. No problem, I could do that... for about ten seconds . Then the burning in my wrists and forearms would become hard to bear and I'd have to throw down my sword and run away.

That is truly an awesome sword! And it looks to cut effortlessly. You shouldn't have to run away, I see you coming with that sword and I'm out of there. ;D that is one cool rabbit with big pointy teeth. ;D You wouldn't want to adopt me, you know so I could inherit your cool sword. ;D
