So, on Saturday Garrett came over to my house to show me some of his swords, and this one jian caught my eye. It has copper dragon fittings, and just felt perfect in my hand, so I placed an order for one and will have to wait for 6-8 weeks until I get it. I will definitely take pictures once I get it and also do a review on it once all this snow is gone. I definitely recommend to get one of his swords, they all look amazing.

Well, Garrett doesn't have any pictures of the sword up on his website yet. Maybe I should hassle him until he does

I know how you feel man. Except I cannot relate to you EXACT situation... I usually get stuck waiting 3 weeks... But man... 6? It will be worth it from what I hear.

3-5 weeks is nothing compared to what some people wait for their sword or knives.

I just got an email from Garrett. He said that my sword is in line waiting to be made. Since Chinese New Years is coming up, the forge won't be running for a bit.

So the swords are first made, then sent! Wow! I would think of it as a sword being made just for me! ;D (But that is just me).

I was actually able to tweek some of the things with the sword. The blade is going to be a bit shorter then the one he showed me to fit me better, and I asked if brass fitting could be used instead of copper, but with the fittings he doesn't know if he'll be able to do that.

I owned a zhi sword. It was the straight katana with the little crow style blade. If you look up a dynasty forge double edged katana, it was nearly identical save that the blade was straight. The blade was well polished, the fullers were crisp and clean, and the balance was reasonable. Two things wrong, though. The sword was bent, and the temper was bad. I'm assuming that the sword was bent because the temper was bad. LoL The sword was beautiful, the fittings were nice, and the scabbard was amazingly well built.
Oh, and when I took the sword apart to straighten the blade I found out that they had sealed the tsuka on with a very difficult to remove silicone. I don't know why they didn't use epoxy, but it was definitely silicone. Would I buy another one? Hell no. Was it heartbreakingly beautiful? yes.

forums.swordforum.com/showthread.php?t=92087Well I had a T-10 dadao made from Zhi sword. The blade was very good and fittings were just like i saw on the site. I did a little review on the above link. paid 500 so not bad for the money. The blade did rattle a little but that was probably from the shipping. I torqued the bottom piece on the handle and it tightened well. Their stuff has gotten better over the years....not perfect.

And that's about the response I'd expect for a lowly zhisword on that forum, good as it is for what it is....I'll let yall know when I get it, hopefully in february.
