Something's off about this blade, the characters are very poorly carved, to the point it makes it really hard to translate. The nakago finish is also poorly done. I'd say most likely a reproduction. Can we see the rest of the blade?

THis appears to be the Franklin Mint Imperial Sword of the Samurai or a variant thereof. Not a "real" sword.

Looks like these were going for 1500$ and more, but now they fetch 300-700$ at auction. Not a good investment, swords....
