Also don't forget Wang Katana 2011. They are an eBay seller front end for a Chinese forge. They have a lot of Chinese swords on their page, and honestly I don't know how they can do it so cheap, when they actually water quench and their fittings and blades have so much detail. I have a bare blade from them I really like. Some of their Chinese designs are firmly in the fantasy realm, but some look pretty authentic.

LK Chen released a Longquan jian just a few months ago! It looks nice, affordable, and very light according to the specs.
I asked KOA when they plan on having them in stock a while ago but they never answered me back...

Yeah, the LK Chen Longquan Jian looks pretty nice. It is more or less in the Beta phase still AFIAK. It is just a different hilt construction, all other dimensions are similar to the Ming Jian they offer. I have one Jian that is pretty similar in weight and PoB, and the further out PoB does make it feel really similar to the Gale Wind. Although if I had to choose now, I'd probably go for the Longquan instead. But I don't want to import it to the EU again, so I'll likely never will be able to try it out.

23oz. Man, that's lightweight for the length. Must be crazy quick.

It's basically just a blade. Ming Jian blade is around 600g/1,3lbs, it would be a bit lighter since it is slightly smaller, still, maybe 150g/0,33lbs in furnituer max.

Wang-Katana 2011 are the real deal, at least my experience with them was good. What you do see sometimes though is a "storefront" of people who are "selling" the same thing. When you place an order, they place the order with the original company for slightly more money than the original. I haven't used reverse image search, but I suspect this is what's going on. Obviously, if you buy from one of the "resellers," it will be more expensive and take longer. Buying from Wang-Katana 2011 direct through their eBay front is the fastest and cheapest way. They make nice blades, at a surprisingly low price, and are one of the few who actually water quench anything. The koshirae are the same as you get from any other Longquan forge (made by a third party supplier they all use).
