Great review Cara, and a nice looking sword too! I did an interview with Ron from Traditional Filipino Weapons years ago when the digest was a PDF, definitely struck me as a reliable source for decent Pinoy weapons. +30 review points and a karma from me.

Just wanted to post another short video that shows further stress testing: Interestingly, the blade took the hard thrusts and impacts with no problems whatsoever. I love the back ground of your test cutting site , It look like Ogre could come out any minute (that would be real cool test -Sensibar versus Ogre )

I'd be expecting a wood troll but yes, the site is really great. The house we life in is situated on a mountainside (as every house in this city) and 100 m from us is a path to the peak. So we pack up the stuff and go hiking to this little clearing, real fun and good training ;D By the way, I guess I couldn't test the sansibar on the ogre... I have a heart for fellow unusual creatures

I only know Ogre from Lord of the ring and Harry Porter .I ,too love all creatures and would not harm them for the sake of sport , testing weapon or for fun I have yet to explore all the national park and forrest in my state but there aren't much seclude area available for me to play with sword (too many tourists and nervous park rangersn)

No killing of trolls! What did they ever do to you? As I understand it the icelandic and norwegian trolls are completely different to other folk loric trolls.

@thana Our path is very steep and difficult so most people take the main route. As far as I know the mountainside is so called "utmark" in contrast to "civilized/possesed" areas where you aren't allowed to run around with weapons. We can train on that (uneven) mountain path without problems. Not that the occasional bypasser wouldn't think us weird, but that's a thing I'm used to. Considering trolls, ogres or any other creature that may or may not lurk in the woods. I'm taking the "they are just misunderstood"-perspective. Classical fantasy often gives the impression of such creatures as plain evil, but I think that is too simplified. So, Bloodwraith, I'm not going to kill any trolls. Especially not the harmless playful rascals typical to Scandinavia. And I even "saw" one... well, it was a dead tree but from afar it was impossible not to interpret it as a troll. Ah, how I love mountain forests... But we should stop hijacking my own tread

Okay, I set down the score in Structural Integrity down to 4 out of 5. First of, no one seems to agree with me and on the other hand I handled the Kris now for several days (yes, review coming). While I'm still not sure if the bending in the Sansibar is due to mine being a fluke I think the construction in itself is far more fragile than the kris.
But 4 or 4.5 is not that big a difference, I still like the Sansibar.

Good review Cara and Skallagrim, good work on the posing and showing off the dimensions of the weapon Cara, I like to see a good panoramic view of the weapon in a live hand rather then website photo's ...... gives a good idea of dimensions .......
