Thanks for the responses. It looks like the Regent would probably be sharp enough for my purposes. Does anyone know if Albion lets you request special sharpening (perhaps for an additonal fee)? Several years ago, Thomas Riley from Medieval Review made a video about a Regent that was, according to him, extremely sharp; I think he said that the person who ordered it had requested it. If so, I might prefer to go with that. email Mike at Albion and ask

Thanks so much for the info. The Regent seems to be exactly what I’m looking for.

Just contacted Albion about ordering a Regent, have not heard back from them yet. I'll keep you posted, though it'll probably be a while before I actually have it, heh.

If so, I guess I'll just wait a few days, then. Not really a big deal.

Mike replies to emails really early in the morning on Monday-Thursday. If you try to schedule a visit to the showroom, that is also Mon-Thurs.

Just finished ordering a Regent; I went with the oxblood grip, though I also considered plain black. 18-24 month wait time. I might be able to get something else in the mean time, we'll see.

Hope you will enjoy it. In the meantime, do experiment with other swords. Context is important
