Are herringbone hardwood floors a thing omg Germany? Been in construction for ~ 40 years and have never seen one in person. Have seen them in pics of higher priced homes.

I've seen them in homes in New Orleans. Older homes, for the most part, perhaps 1940 to 1960. I've always loved them.

Latest Darksword Armoury order fun; A "Guardlan" with scabbard. Was sent right back to the seller. They dont learn with QC; at least the blade was quite OK. But this is not what you get from other makers for 700 Euros. Geezus look at the state of that poor scabbard. There should be assault charges for shipping that to you. Was exactly the same price like the CUSTOM Regenyei Armoury longsword my man received some weeks ago - needless to say that was absolutely flawless; scabbard too!

Looks effective at blocking certain cut/slash facial hits. Honestly, it is really annoying lol. My face keeps trynna point at it (nose, mouth, eye brows) by scrunching towards it, my eyes keep focusing on it, and I feel like a prey animal with my eyes on both sides of my head. I wear mine a bit low cause I want my ears to be protected too, so I am kinda wearing it wrong. But paint your nose black haha. Feels similar Not to mention my breath keeps moiatening it

A couple of budget blades joined our forever home today, a TFW Moro Janap and a Spicy Mike Kerley Tac-Tanto. To me, the Janap is a really nice piece. The sultry recurved lines are very pleasing to the eye, while the light forward-balanced blade is fast and authoritative in the hand. This model is slightly updated from the one on KoA’s page. TFW rounded out the plunge line, making it one flowing curve edge-to-spine. To me, it’s a dramatic improvement. They also switched the fittings from painted glossy black to a flat forge-blackened type finish. This and the darker woods give a more serious mature impression. As always, I’m a big fan of TFW steel (regardless of the marketing), and appreciate TFW’s reasonable prices and regular availability. All together, this fast robust fighter is my new favorite all-purpose pack chopper. The tanto might not really be considered a tanto, and wasn’t sold as one. Slim, concealable, light and tough with an atom-splitting edge geometry, to me it’s more of a serious fighter for EDC duty. It has a subtle S-recurve shaped spine that facilitates numerous grips and uses. The ito wrapped ray skin is very tight, and provides a super secure grip on the otherwise thin cross-section hilt. Like the janap, this knife was made to be used. I’ll enjoy having both of them with me out in the world.

New XIIa sword from www.facebook.com/InCariusCraft/ or www.etsy.com/de/shop/IncariusSwords?ref=simple-shop-header-name&listing_id=686767846 Very nice package for 700 Euro. Almost flawless, Rafa is a great craftsman indeed! Only the "blade gap" is there, but not very much; and you have a tiny slight sabering (one edge curved in, one curved out) of the blade due to sharpening process. Everything else is straight and in line. We have seen far worse from DSA and (sabering pity often) from Valiant Armoury, for example. Sharpness is very good, not razor, but that wouldnt make sense on a sword anyway as i have been told. Perfect appleseed geometry, good distal taper (Holger dont really care for distal taper, but according to him this is a sword type well known for that feature). The pommel is beautiful! Overall length 115 cm, blade 90 cm, weight 1420 g, POB 13 cm from the guard. I have no calipers, but on the distal taper i would say 5-6 mm at the guard down to 3-4 mm after the fuller and then 1-2 mm a few centimetres away from the tip. Blade width at the guard 5,4 cm.
