Sharp blades are good to have, if Shire-folk go walking, east, south, far away into dark and danger.

Nice design! You see that scimitar looking one he just finished with the wolf pommel? Attachments:

I love the blade brother! Is there any symbolism to why the serpent and lion face one way and the goat faces the other? Or is that just how the design worked best?

Blade detail: Hilt detail: Genesis 9:2, KJV:
And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered.Bro Nat, that would be the worlds coolest, though uncomfortable pommel.

interesting design, how is he going to do the goat? might be better to have it engraved on a pommel

Maybe like a fishtail pommel ? (Except the horns) If brass, Purna totally can smooth it and make it comfortable even with the details but I don't know if he can with steel (being harder and all).

I do like those single edge swords.
So.. why the goat? Or should I not ask?

In mythology, a chimera is often depicted as a monstrous blend of lion, snake, and goat.

I see. Why, then, the passage?
“And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it..” Genesis 9:5 KJV
“Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.” Genesis 9:6 KJV
It is most definitely NOT my intention to begin a discussion or controversy regarding religion. I wish neither to derail your thread nor criticize in any way.
I am only interested to understand your art. If it is inherently religious or otherwise sensitive, and if you are willing, I would alternatively invite you to PM me.
In any event, thanks for sharing!

Regarding the passage for anyone interested. I would imagine that by now, the style of weapon-art would be comfortable for most on here as I have been pushing the gothic and monstrous stuff for years now. I felt that the passage(Included with the art) was interpretable by the audience as analogous, with the wielder of the Chimera being a master(having lordship) over the beasts(Even the greatest of all). I try to leave things open for interpretation and push the envelope, but the actual offense one might feel is not the intention. I would hope that through my many contributions, my respect and admiration for various cultures, religions and people will show through. Not gonna lie , when you sent me the first draft for the goat it kinda through me for a loop lol. It didn't bother me but an old mental tick from my upbringing screamed at me. But you do you man, that imagination of yours is what made me start posting here again in the first place lol

I am not going to sit here and play dumb, lol. I know full well the impact of the goat and it is on purpose. I want someone to look at it and be intimidated to touch it or handle it. I want the animalistic energy to be felt. Purna is going to perform the same ritual he did with the Litany of descent, also. Yikes! I withdraw my previous comments. 🙂

I don't know why but that goat face immediately reminds of the Icon of Sin in Doom franchise. A very "heavy-metal" feeling sword it will be!

That's absolutely what I was going for. I want people to look at it and just think of Doom 2, Blood(Monolith) and Hexen (insert any other 90's DOS FPS, lol) I still remember firing BFG at John Romero's severed head hiding behind a wall as a six-grader. Feels like yesterday

To be honest, I think the goat is quite endearing and charming. Looks like a very inviting sword to fend off the wolves and protect the flock. Horns could always be entwined like an elongated fishtail pommel if you're concerned about handling, but I really like this design the way it is now. Seeing as how it's the year of the tiger, maybe some red tiger's eye could be used as a material to accent the design, that or some bloodstone (which in color spectrum is a pretty chimeric stone) could add some extra flair and fit the theme.

Fantastic! Instantly made me think of Shub Niggurath,The Black Goat of the Woods with a Thousand Young...but then I panned right to find its an honest Chimera of Goat, Lion and Serpent. My oh my ... words fail me at how beautiful she could turn out. The Horns are reminiscent of antenae on certain 'celtic' inspired designs but pushes the boundary of Victorian Gothic/Secret Order of the Occulus, uniting Alestair Crowley and Anton LeVay. While the serpent reminds me of a deadly desert creature, the sartorial splendor of the lion is majestic. As symbologies go, theres so much more to discuss bout this one...but im battleweary from driving the warhorse hither, thither and yaw from dance dance in the east to the estate of my repose in the far western quarter...and theres a catbox calling my name filled with alchemy detestibly elegant. 'Beastia' indeed, Brother! Well imagined!!! Cheers, Ouro Attachments:

Pommel's been giving me Black Phillip vibes from the VVitch. It's been like 4 years since I've seen that movie and I still remember that freaking goat. I think he actually sent someone on to the hospital while filming. Horrifically beautiful as always, sir!

I told Brother Nate that goats are scary. Glad I'm not the only one. They are shrieking screaming psychos.

I told Brother Nate that goats are scary. Glad I'm not the only one. They are shrieking screaming psychos. I have a friend who once fought a goat. He won too (this friend, that is - not the goat). Got the damn beast in a chokehold and choked it out.
