Interesting design, looks nice, I have to say tho do u think the protruding bits on the pommel will hurt?

7-8 mm thick for such a short blade - that's going to be a lot of distal taper and quite the stout blade!

Yes, I have been contemplating the idea of a short sword for a knight or other European Noble carrying a short sword as essentially the place of a Wakizashi with a Samurai. Sure Daggers or knives were common place but what about something just a bit larger with a good sized guard, etc. I really love this new design ! (And also, not scary ) Thanks. The original scary scabbard design isn't gone though, it's just going toward something else.  I had a feeling you would like this one! Yea that's what I do with my Danu. It's my back up to my GSOW (which is a back up to my Long Bladed Hewing Spear). My shield is even part of my armour, as my armour doesn't have a back plate, making me look a bit like a metal turtle |

No but seriously I was thinking of doing pommel strikes with it.
Now, of course, I am into viking swords, so the idea of a short-ish grip with stuff protruding on the hilt is pretty normal for me!

This actually might be my favorite shorter blade that I have ever seen.... To me it looks like something the grandmaster of a knightly order would carry or a paladin.
