Purna continues to excel! The alternating copper and brass inlays are really striking. When you first showed me the idea for this hamemr, I was sure the head was going to be too large, but seeing it done with the haft, it really looks right.
I certainly wouldn't want my cloud (head) split by that beast.

I now appreciate why you don't want to test this and risk damaging the haft given the awesome inlay work. Still, could you smash a pumpkin for us? I think we deserve that at least. Do your best Gallagher impression and smash!

This looks so unique and fantastique! Looks like an instrument to pass down judgment. Very stern and stoic!

he did a really nice job on that one Thanks, he doesn't have too much experience with hafted pieces aside from literally creating his tools. So we are pleased with the result. This looks so unique and fantastique! Looks like an instrument to pass down judgment. Very stern and stoic! Ah, Brother Kane, of course, this is an instrument for passing down judgement indeed. The judge, jury, and executioner. The power and majesty of the pegasus souring through the sky like a javelin. The arcing death blow of its landing upon you. It somehow gives me a vibe of Judge Dredd and Mjölnir simultaneously.

Do your best Gallagher impression and smash! Just in time for Halloween, and also the beginnings of a story involving foul black magic loosed upon a towns innocent garden, and the creation of goblin gourds from Hell.

That is very impressive NB and looks like Purna did you proud. I’d like to know how Purna secured the head to the haft along with some specs.

I think the first sketch captured the proportions most accurately. Thank goodness you countersunk the wire. It looks and probably feels much nicer.

Great looking hammer. It does seem a bit weighty, maybe.

Good point, but those examples are considerably shorter. Is this hammer for two-handed use? I'm just thinking of my Cold Steel warhammer (which isn't very historical, I don't think). It's about 30 inches long and 2.5 pounds. It seems unwieldy in one hand but those medieval men-at-arms were probably stronger than me.

Between these, which is for two hands? Sorry, I don't understand your question.

Between these, which is for two hands? Both, as you can almost use anything two handed, but the answer you are probably looking for is the longer one (unless the shorter one is super heavy steel).

Sorry, again, sometimes images don't come through on my work computer. I'm not sure how they were employed historically. I'd guess one-handed if from horseback and the longer one would be two-handed if on foot.
