Welcome to the forum! I love this place. If someone is inaccurate amother someone is more than happy to share loads of data. I've learned so much being here. Most other social media tend to have loads of people who are never corrected on inaccurate information Thank you for the welcome Djjinja
I hope to not be inaccurate...as I do a lot of shooting...err wait...wrong forum...LOL Andy

Nothing wrong with being incorrect on things, as it's a great opportunity to learn when corrected. It's how I see it. I learn something new everyday here Very true...I enjoy learning and gaining knowledge...mistakes or being incorrect , are just another learning opportunity. Andy

I just wanted to say thank you for the forum and web site.
Its nice to get information about swords , that "cuts" through a lot of the BS and misinformation that is out there on the internet. Also the articles on the site and threads here in the forum...seem to get to the "point" and are very helpful , as well as fun to read.
Sorry for the puns...well okay not really... 
In any event... I just ordered my first sword , it is the Balaur Arms Single Edge Viking Sword from Kult of Athena. I am looking forward to getting the sword...and learning how to "use" it...things like practice cutting and the like...
Without this site or forum...my choice would have been a lot more difficult to make... So thank you again. Andy
Welcome to the forum and I am glad that you are interested in swords and have your first sword. All of the swords that I have had were cheap wall hangers that were not even worthy of hanging on walls. I knew nothing of swords back then. Thanks to SBG and the great guys here, when I am able to, I will buy myself a good quality battle ready sword. I will enjoy cutting melons, water filled soda bottles and other cutting media. Congratulations on your first sword. I hope that you get years, nay, decades of enjoyment and use out of it. |

As for the sword...it hasn't arrived yet , its kinda like a being a kid at Christmas time..and waiting for Santa...LOL

I am pretty frugal these days and don't often by something for myself I don't "need." I have to admit, though, that having something you "want" on order does give me a little boost in mood, sort of like anticipating a present.
So, I recommend reframing any long waits into things to be hopeful for in the future. It's amazing what such a small change can do.
Also, am very grateful for these boards, too. Being a member, new or not, means you are included in that. So my thanks to everyone for their participation and to the mods for their hard work!

I really don't mind the wait.
I did pick the optional sharpening service.
In addition to all the work that goes into processing my order and such , plus shipping , all of that takes time.
Just really excited to get my first sword.
Well , I'd excited if it was my 100th sword...If I am to be honest.

Hey Andy, waiting for the same model myself right along with you. Viking swords aren't normally my cup of tea but there is something appealing about the no-none-sense design of a chopper like that. I missed out on the BA Teutonic arming sword because I wasn't sure of the maker so I thought to myself "Not this time!" and ordered as soon as I could after checking the stats. I'm sure we're both gonna love them when they come. Looking forward to continuing this journey with you!

Yep Skelly that is me....Shooting my .54 Hawken Rifle replica. Its won some shooting matches and kept me fed. Below is a another "shot" for closer viewing...
