L6 isn't magical. It's just one of many modern steels which all have the potential to create stunning performance in the hands of the right maker. Any of the top sword makers will tell you exactly what I'm telling you. Modern steels, heat treated properly by someone who knows what the hell they're doing, will outperfom traditional steels in durability. This isn't rocket science, it's just a simple fact.

Oh I quoted in entirety and excerpted the over promise part for maximum irony. And no it’s not just one, the general report from testers is L6 one of the most edgeware prone sword steels around sbg-sword-forum.forums.net/thread/42147/hanwei-high-alloy-l6-bainiteNow you can think I’m being harsh but I’ve had stupendous promises of legendary performance better than all other swords. To that I say, if you want to sell me that, give me evidence. I’m told it utterly obsoleted good swords, testers say It wears faster than most swords. And salesmen going no true Scotsman in response to the tester verdict on L6 and other scifi alloys is not compelling. If horrifically expensive models are terrible, you should give evidence the even more horrifically expensive aren’t just as bad. I’m here to find facts not listen to infomercials. You have answered this predictably and no, I would not want to sell you anything, that is a fact. I am retreating now since I find this to be like talking to a broken record which is also mounted on a wall. you enjoy your "facts" and "proof" and I'll continue to enjoy my illusions.

That seems like a no true Scotsman still to excuse that taxa being wallhangers. Remember, water is infamously difficult to work with and still Bugei has pumped out a line of swords that can split hogs. The more expensive (and in theory better quality control) L6: even in the best of cases accelerated edge wear sbg-sword-forum.forums.net/thread/42147/hanwei-high-alloy-l6-bainiteIn the absence of you providing evidence of your sci-fi swords, it’s fair to hold L6 worth thousands as our evidence, Bugei and water can work for less. If you want me to buy your stuff, split pork bones, don’t make stupendous promises when all the still very expensive examples of your sword are crumpling.

I'm reminded of a quote by Mark Twain. "Do not argue with a fool. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience."

Well I am very sorry that asking salesmen for proof of extraordinary claims they make is a faux pas. That said, being greedy, I won’t regret it. If you want to convince me you sell legends, then prove it. Even Bugei with their cheap swords can do that. What's crazy is that we've been doing this for a living for years now and instead of listening and thanking us for sharing what we've learned over these many years he's arguing with us, lol. I'm reminded of a quote by Mark Twain. "Do not argue with a fool. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience." Promising me the moon and having no evidence isn’t sharing any more than a used car dealer shares. You can get defensive when asked for evidence about your extraordinary claims, but honestly doing the right thing and sharing evidence would help. You’d shut up smart alekcs like me too.Otherwise yeah, like you said. Kids will see that as used car salesman antics. Would you believe that? People in the modern age like proof, evidence, not salesman promises.

As I said, I've been polishing swords professionally for about 17 years. I speak regularly with the best modern sword makers in the world and I do work for them as well as the best competition cutters in the world. I know what they use and why they use it. That is the evidence you asked for, you just won't accept it. I don't need amateur youtube videos of failing production swords to tell me that this scotsman doesn't know what he's talking about. What I CAN'T provide you with is video evidence of the swords I'm talking about failing while cutting. To my knowledge there isn't any.

I had no idea you were Robert Benson, jimmy Hayashi, Hofhine, or any of the other good polishers. I commend that, truly because everyone knows the damage Amateur polishers can do to swords. So many tachi and the like polished by untrained polishers, left looking like Chinese knockoffs. It would be really bad if we had Amateur polishers, reducing treasures to wallahngers and assuming that makes them sword geniuses. As a side Amateur polishing is dangerous. Easy way to turn a 10K tachi into a 100$ desk ornament. Any of the decent polishers will say so. And the examples like that sword above, formerly a 650 year old tachi touched by a self taught speak even more. It would be most unfortunate if this were happening 17 years straight. Good read btw www.ipolishswords.com/whychoosedave.html#bad a bad polish will cost you $$$$ to $$$$$

I'm no Jimmy hayashi or Bob Benson, but then again i don't work on the type of blades that they do, nor do they work on the type of blades I do. I work primarily on newly made swords and some gendai and other blades at my level. What experience do you have that makes you a sword genuis? All you're doing now is throwing insults and making a personal attack. The last stage of a failed argument.

Must be one hell of a war . I hope he survives .
