I grabbed one of those cpm 3v kukris during the sale as well.
It's a steal for the steel!
They are soon releasing the gurkha plus in 52100 for much cheaper.
God help me, I may grab one of those too.
I'm cuckoo for kukris.
Amazon has a sale for 90 dollars on the apoc kukri.

I am a bit apprehensive though, since the other 52100 Cold Steels seem pretty brittle, I hope they don't go maximum hardness with it as well. |

I've a bunch of the CS Drop Forged line acquired over the years on discount when shopping from various sources. I agree that they may need to analyze toughness and subsequently lower the Rockwell on a large chopper like the Kukri. I bet on sale the CS Kukri could near the $100 realm. |

From what I can tell, they were saying the end of this month (June). That seems ambitious, but likely this summer. It will not be shiny like the 4034 or 3v, it will be black coated. Jimmislash on YouTube did a review, I think he said end of June for availability. I personally think the 100 dollar quote is probably going to be around where it will settle, figure about a third of the cost of the 3v. I have the faux antler drop forged bowie. Got it for hardly anything from another midway sale in 2022. It's held up very well. I haven't had to sharpen it and it's had some use hiking and camping. |
