I didn't provide for a suspension in the design, it's got 0 taper in it for a friction fit, not to mention it's super-smooth. If i made a suspension I would either have to tack it in place or sand a section down more for it to stay put. I made basswood core for it this week, which I will cover in leather and get a belt for later. To answer Death-Dude, It's not perfect. but I'm quite happy with it. Here's a work in progress, I was hoping to be done with this one already but the time just hasn't been there. Another nice piece of Cocobolo: This one is not spoken for yet. /hint

Actually you could do a suspension without having to do anything to the scabbard. It would require a 2-point or 2.5 point suspension. The straps going around the wood core would just have to be tight, and they wouldn't move.
Very nice work. How long does it take you on a typical wood scabbard?

I clocked my last hardwood scabbard (bocote) at about 8-9 hours To do a felt lined basswood core takes about 4 hours by contrast. I'm clocking in and out of the one I'm working on now to see if there's a big difference.
