My Father passed a couple of years ago. He lived to a good age of 86. I miss him as my Mother passed years ago at only 56. You carry them with you always in your memories and your heart. I think more about the good memories and not so much about the passing.

Like William, my father died a few years ago too, 87. Your father lives on in the person you are Sounds tacky, but I believe it to be true. As a practical memory thing, if you remember things about your father, write them down, little details. Eventually over time you will forget, this way the little things will always remain in your memory. My condolences for your loss, do pm if you need to talk or whatever. Rann

I've learned nothing in this life is permanent. So live every moment to its fullest and enjoy while you have the opportunity. Take nothing for granted.

There is good news. My dad's organs have stopped swelling and he can breathe on his own again. I want him to make it. He's been a great friend of mine these past few years.

Yea it ended up not helping. His funeral is next week sometime. I gave him my suit since he didn't have one.
I feel a lot better seeing how many friends he has that wanna support and help him, back home. Roughly 200 people who wanna help in some way, even if just prayers.
Thanks again dudes, it's good to have somewhere to talk about it. At least I feel less isolated

I am sorry for your loss. It's a rough go for you and your family. Sounds like a great man, especially when so many people have come to help.

It is difficult, I am sure, but try to rejoice at the time you had together and not dwell on the time that you will not have. All that he was remains in each one of his loved ones. That includes you.

The worst part is having to travel back to my home town for the funeral. I've come to terms with my dad, as he's always had bad health. I've had a long time to adjust to this inevitable time, which a lot of people don't get the luxury of doing. I've made my peace with the guy too, so I'm happy I got the time with him I had
But man, I hate my old home town. Taking a bottle of vodka with me to try sleep the time away
Thanks a bunch dudes. Everyone's been nothing but accommodating to my sadness over this

You must have come from Flint,Michigan.

You must have come from Flint,Michigan. Has similar water quality for sure lol. So it might as well be. I decided to bury him with my cold steel heavy duty sword cane. I snuck it in lll. I figured if the vikings are right about this one he can take it with him into the next life. He always wanted to have it

I can only wish the same will be done for me when it's my time. Your loved ones will have a very tough time picking out which of your blades goes with you across the River Styx. Another reason to have your will updated. I recommend more than one for the journey, including a good folder, push (boot) knife, and a lesser but still quality bowie (I will naturally look after your best if you wish ). I believe that the best blades should never go into the Earth so as to be appreciated by the living.

Truth is, I'm probably gonna be giving the coin to the boatman Charon long before you arrive. Gotta perfect that immortality potion...I know it involves large amounts of Bourbon and...something or other.
