The shape of the Falcata is completed and now to remove the excess weight, we should be about 1.6 lbs once everything is done. Picture verifying blade shape and current weight before he starts on finalizing everything.

Sweet! Good choice I'd think this blade type would be more in Purna's comfort zone lol. Not that it matters, he did an excellent job on his previous Euro swords!

Today's update, we added the wood grips and pinned everything to the handle, now tomorrow Purna will finish everything up and if all goes well will have it shipped out by Sunday.

Today's updated pictures of the Falcata, got the weight down to 1.74 lbs and the next step is to get the scabbard made and it should ship out Sunday/Monday.

Terrific! The polish looks a little better too. I actually think his scabbards are pretty historically authentic, apart from the frog with the laced portion, but that can be removed if you ever do reenactment. This is going to be a great chopper, but light and fast. You're making me consider asking for another one.

Very nice! What is the interior grip length? My kopis is very similar, but as I did not give him any instructions on the size of the grip it's a bit too big for me. My fault not his as my sword is excellent in every other regard.
Thinking hard about selling my kopis and ordering a new one.

I just commissioned from Purna two very unique and rare swords, which I am sure have not been demonstrated here as reproductions (maybe as antiques). I will showcase then when they are completed in the coming week or so.
Congratulations on your new acquisition, looks like a solid piece!

I LIKE it! I’ve been into falcata lately, and this is a particularly nice one. I might be a little jealous. Congratulations.

... what do you guys think? 17" blade, overall length just under 21" weighs in at 780 grams. satin polish. I think it's friggin' awesome.

Falcata arrived today, it is simply amazing in person and in hand. Feels very comfortable in the hand and moves very well for a blade like this. I'll take some photos this weekend.
