Imho, your first choice is a really good one. I like it.
The star shape is my least favorite.
Still, any display of such fine pieces will be enviable.

Thanks for the feedback, in the end I choose the half fan and different corner. I reasoned that putting everything close together would end up crowing things up and distract from each display. So now they are tucked up in a different corner (poor things):

Fantastic!
I always like to see this thread bumped. It gives me a good reason to read through it again, admiring the swords and displays.
Eventually, I may imitate your display style with my far more modest collection.

Thank you Pellius, they give me a lot of pleasure having them up on display. The good news is that it took my wife a day to notice the new display so fingers crossed I am approaching that point of critical mass where new additions just disappear into the crowd…

“Into the crowd!”
Yes. That would be nice for many reasons!

Another productive weekend, and another board up on the wall. A small one for my three spadroons.

Just realised that it's been a while since I updated my main display, which I've made some changes to:
The Solingen made m1813 LC1 has been replaced with one made by J. Gill. Ive given that and the m1813 LC2 a reproduction sword knot. A 1788 Pattern LC Troopers sabre has taken the 1796 LC Officers spot, which in turn has replaced the Mameluke which will get a new display.
The 1796 HC Dismounted service with the leather scabbard has moved to join the other spadroons, making space for the one with the Andrea Ferarra blade.
So now they are:
Dutch m.1800 Light Dragoons NCO/officer's sabre - early 19th Century French An XI Light Cavalry Officer's sabre French Dragoons officer's sabre with 'Garde de Bataille' hilt French AN XIII troopers' sword (with 1816 style scabbard) French AN XI Light Cavalry troopers' sabre Dutch m.1813 No.2 Light Cavalry troopers' sabre Dutch m.1814 No.3 Heavy Cavalry troopers' sword British 1796 Pattern Light Cavalry troopers' sabre / Dutch m.1813 No.1 Light Cavalry trooper's sabre British 1788 Pattern Light Cavalry troopers' sabre British 1796 Pattern Heavy Cavalry troopers' sabre British 1796 Pattern Heavy Cavalry officer's dress sword British 1796 Pattern Light Cavalry Yeomanry officer's sabre British 1796 Pattern Light Cavalry officer's sabre.

Added the 1803 Pattern Officers sabre to the 'Lions head' board. Tested the L hooks as well:

Fathers' day project for me; built another display board with some random swords I took a fancy to:
From left to right they are: - British, Georgian era light cavalry officers dress sabre
- British 1822 Regulation full dress mameluke sabre for an officer of the 12th Lancers
- British 1822 Regulation dress Lancer officers’ mameluke sabre
- British, Georgian era officers’ pipe-back sabre
- French Revolutionary mounted officers sabre with rotating guard.
For those interested, stats on the swords (and more) can be found here: Sword measurements
