Not really for the crusades more a lster period sword like a XVa. The designs has been used in a lot of productions too one most significantly seen in is Ken Follet's Pillars of the Earth mini series. Nice sword but nothing a 12-13th century Templar would be seen using. Be like Wild Bill having a Ak47, lol.

Ahh I see so my search continues in the greatness of things and I already have a few choices. Besides, I am trying to find the right one. But then the RK Euro Model 13 is one of them, another one already in the chatroom and then a few from India like this: www.ebay.com/itm/163761425845?ul_noapp=true or Windlass.

Looks interesting, of an earlier type (supposedly designed on a historical find) and since it comes from Kris it might be a compelling consideration. www.kriscutlery.com/european-and-medeival/2874fc8z3ap1ewhn6dxkgh6ecbguokKnow of anybody having experience with it or any general thoughts on it’s design?

I would like to know the same thing though the only thing I worry about is the shrunken scabbard since I might have to get that replaced if I buy it or get it.

Sullivan sebastian , I have no personal experience with Kris but they have always had a good reputation from members here. The sword this one is based on is actually another later period sword of the mid 15th century and is classified as a Type XVII in the typology. Kris calls it a Templar sword but it doesn't really fit the time period of the order. Here's a pic of the orginal,

I chose the 13th to 14th century sword which would have been used by the Templars! I really can't wait for it to come in from Balaur Arms! Squee! I am getting it sharpened so I can practice with it within reason. From, Eris

I love how light it is but sadly it has rust on the pommel. I didn't expect that.

I love how light it is but sadly it has rust on the pommel. I didn't expect that. Pretty minor issue if all you cannfins wrong is a little rust on the pommel. Easy fix thought, get some wetdry paper (250-800 grit) and it will come off easy. I think the rust and stains these come with from time to time is when they're shipped from India the packaging isn't as tight as it should be.

This looks more in line with my budget. I think I am starting to like the Italian long swords as well.
