I can't recall the exact difference in the actual geometries, but if you recall shobu-zukuri has no yokote, and there was another that escapes me at present which also had no yokote, yet these swords were just peachy and fine for their usage. Is it moro-ha? They had no yokote i think? I don't think kata-kiri-ba had them either?

Moro-ha is one, actually, now that you mention it. There was also a variant of unokubi that had no yokote but I forget its specific name. I had to remind myself what a kata-kiri-ba was. That variety, too, I suppose we can count. So I guess more geometries LACKED the yokote than had. Either way, when it comes to shinogi-zukuri, a real yokote is an absolute must for me. Otherwise just leave it alone; crappy counter-polishing is the fastest way to NOT sell me a sword.
