Well I can't review the kura from Paul but I have something else extremely exciting in the works from him that I will definitely have to review when it gets here. OMG I can't wait! I am like a kid on Christmas!

My Katana 29A arrived today and I must say I am simply amazed. I was going to do a separate review, but no point really. Although I ordered a katana with blue ito, I received one with brown ito and to be honest, I could care less about the color (though no point posting pics as you would only see a carbon copy of what slav posted). This katana is everything slav said it is. Looking at other swords in this price range (I paid about $250 shipped when the 20% off sale was on), well, the others just don't compare. The simple but well executed koshirae is very elegant. The ito is unbelievably tight.....I mean, I've no idea how they got it so tight. The diamonds are a bit out of line and the lack of real same kinda-sorta-but not too much bugs me, but I just cannot keep from picking this sword up and staring at it. I love the feel and the handling. I love the saya. They did a much better job on this saya compared to my KC waki. All I need is a nice sageo for it (does not come with one). This is a katana from a true craftsman and not in the same league as others in this price range. I cannot recommend this sword enough. If you are in the market for a katana in the sub $300 range, you'd be crazy not to give Kris Cutlery some very serious consideration.

I was all ready to buy a Katana 29 and a Katana 26 while the 20% sale was going on... and was considering picking up a couple other swords because of the savings... but then the 26 disapered... I guess it was sold out.

The 26II is still available, but the 26A does seem to have been pulled. Also missing is their standard wakizashi.

I asked them about the Katana 26-A... they said they may have it again for the summer, but its not for sure, as they are often doing new things. Sad. I really wanted a 29-A and a 26-A to re-do the ito and Saya as his and hers katana for my wife and I. Was gonna send em to our own Slav for the work.

Guess they got to it a little early. If you've got the cash, grab it while you can.

ok, this theme is a quite bit old, but anyone who has purchased this sword (or maybe other like 26a, 29II and 26II kinds of swords from kris cutlery) could you please post some pics of it? it looks like that I've almost saved up for it and want to by it, so more pictures would be very good.
thanks.

I bought Ricky's hand polished one, I'll go pick it up tomorrow... I can post pics, but the one from Kris Cutlery will NOT look like it.

yeah, I know, it will be too different, but at least I'll have something to desire when I get my 29a oh and the fittings are the same, right?
