Hello friends of swords, I'm from Germany and new here in the forum. So far I have only collected original sabers and swords in the last 23 years. During this time I worked as a moderator in some military forums. 2007 I founded a German forum for old sabers and swords. I was the administrator until the end of 2018. But now I want swords! Large swords from the Middle Ages. That fascinates me more than these military or civil toothpicks. To achieve the new hobby I sold part of my collection and ordered 6 sword replicas. The delivery in Germany takes many weeks, however, because the item comes from external storage. I only received one, a Bosworth long sword from the Battlecry Collection. In the meantime I have read many reviews and saw many videos on Youtube. Skallagrimm in particular is my favorite and of course the reviews here in the forum. Finally, I need a translator. My English is not enough for long texts. Best regards, Thomas

Greetings neighbour! I'm pretty sure you'll find a warm place in this forum. Sabres or swords... You'll find enough input here.

Thank you for the welcome. In the meantime I have 4 of the 7 ordered swords. I didn't think I could be so happy at my age. I have to say that the swords on the product photos do not nearly emphasize the actual attractiveness. This is of course a bonus when unpacking. It is fun and occasionally I will read through the forum because I have questions and suggestions.

Welcome from the frozen wastes east of Ottawa, Canada! Thank you very much. In Brandenburg we are 3 winters without snow and frost at a maximum of minus 6 ° Celsius. A little bit I miss the snow.

I am surprised no one has asked yet...what six swords did you order and from whom and why? Thanks for the questions, LordNewport. Somehow I was afraid of them because the answer is not that easy. Blade weapons fascinated me as a child. When I started collecting in 1997, however, I decided to use sabers from the 18th century onwards. Primarily those with a regional background. Unfortunately, these are not comparable to the medieval swords. My interest in the small sabers has decreased more and more in recent years. In order not to completely give up my passion, I let myself be turned around at the beginning of this year. The decisive factor was the newsletter of a German sword trade before Christmas. The orders were free of shipping costs. But the offer was not the reason. Visiting his website in January saw a 10% discount on Windlass Swords. In addition, my wife wanted to do something good for me, after Christmas. I said: I know something and ordered the Bosworth of the Battlecry series. Now there was no stopping. A sword doesn't count. So I sold my original saber and ordered more windlass swords. All right, there was one Long sword from the 15th century, Erbach sword, an acre crusader sword from the Battlecry collection and a Hero's Warsword. In order not to have Windlass swords alone I ordered a Scottish Claymore and a Tinker Pearce long sword from Hanwei (Paul Chen). The last two are still on the way to me. Why mostly these long swords? I am 2 meters (6,56168 feet) tall and like the slightly larger swords. Thomas PS: In total there are now 7 swords.

Part of my collection many years ago. Many Japanese swords can be seen here. Everything went to waste because I renovated the room.
