I did French and Indian and Revolutionary War for ten years. Even tried bagging a wild turkey for Thanksgiving a few times. Someone must have tipped them off that the crazy guy with the long rifle in the funny cloths is in the woods again. See them on my property a lot of times but never before Thanksgiving. Unfortunately there's no Viking, Roman or Medieval living history or reenactment groups anywhere near where I live. I would have even considered building a Viking river size boat if there had been. Instead my house just looks like a museum.

Unfortunately there's no Viking, Roman or Medieval living history or reenactment groups anywhere near where I live. I would have even considered building a Viking river size boat if there had been. Instead my house just looks like a museum. Turkeys are hard to catch in the wild, they are very smart and have good eyesight. Trying to bag one old school gives you a great appreciation for the skill of our ancestors. My wife is a DAR and they just did the reenactment of the Battle of Great Bridge last weekend. As for me, I don't worry about joining a group. I just do stuff. I can have fun all by myself. Sure, it's great to have a group of people with like interest, but not having anybody shouldn't stop you from enjoying the things you want. There certainly isn't any groups in my area for either kenjutsu or Roman history- but I don't care. I'm just doing my thing.... Can't wait to properly fit my armor and gather all the rest of the kit! As Rick Flair used to say: "WHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!"

Love the user name change red, I mean Rufus Scorpius sir! Seemed to be a natural progression. I guess it was in the back of my mind the whole time. Now I've found myself...my true inner "me"...

I ordered an armor stand and got a decorative sword like object. I get to keep it because the cost of shipping it back is more than it's worth. Might look good on the wall or something. I dunno. Not my style.

Is there a fishing kit in the handle? 🤣
Hey, it's a free sword! Someday you can pass it on to someone and get them started in this hobby too.

No fishing kit, and the pommel doesn't unscrew, and it's flat dull. So no part of it is a weapon whatsoever. Just decoration. And the sheath is made of thick pleatherized red canvas with a blue back-strap. I would consider this a Punjabi Pogo Stick- not even up to Mall Ninja level.

Man i been looking at this set of Roman armour on reliks for a long time, might be the same kind. I figured the same too, I could always customize it a bit to fit if it's not my size
How's it feel moving around in it? Is the extra weight noticeable?
Also, that sword... Looks like one from DBZ lol. If I didn't know any better I would think it belonged to the blue hair guy, trunks

Looks like one from DBZ lol. If I didn't know any better I would think it belonged to the blue hair guy, trunks I really can't give you an honest answer about the armor; this is my first set of lorica and so far I think it's pretty awesome! But I'm still learning, and in a couple of years I might look back on it and realize it's about as good as a cat's hairball. I'm having fun learning, and right now that's what is most important to me. As far as how it fits and feels- i'll let you know when I get a chance to put in on properly and run around a bit in it. Just the one time I had it on so far it felt really good- the weight was well distributed and not terribly noticeable. I'm sure if I wore it for 20 hours a day I might feel differently. But it's armor, it's designed to protect- with comfort coming in third place after protection and mobility. I will give a full review by the weekend for sure. Stay tuned! *is that Germanian brats I smell on my cooking fire?

I guess you're talking to Andi? He's already gone to bed. You're just smelling your own farts, Rufus.

Bavaria has arisen! Now let's have some salsiccia legionaria for breakfeast! Best from a freshly opened testudo!
Btw, the sword just looks as it could be used as an armor stand. Lorica over the crossguard, helmet on the pommel. Camping armor stand?
