Museum Replicas catalogs and site used to have a picture of Hank Reinhardt doing this strong man pose. It has since been adopted by others, including some forumites after re-introduced by Eyal Azerad of Darksword Armory. One of the first instincts many have when receiving a sword is flexing the sword. Many don't consider not just safety but a reason to be doing so. I do it myself ....................yet................not overhead, or to an extreme. Chuck it in a big vise if you are going to destruction and do please be prepared if doing so. I have my own method of grabbing the point and letting the sword flex itself. As well the point in floor routine (I suppose I could use a book or something). Be safe GC
