Thanks for the review! There were a couple of things on this project that gave me some trouble, notably the grip and getting an even polish on the guard. This was the first time I'd done a sword with langets on the grip side, and I wasn't quite able to get a perfect fit. This was my 3rd, and best, attempt at it. I think the leather just ended up too stiff, even though I skived it and it was pretty thin anyway. As for the polish, normally I use a combination of rotary sander, belt sander, and hand sanding to achieve the finish, but my tools wouldn't reach the inner portion, between the langets and the L-bend, so that area is a little different from the rest of the guard because it was just hand sanded. As a craftsman in bothers me when there are flaws like that, but unfortunately my skill level just isn't there yet. Sure thing! I hope it sends a few more people your way cause your work does fill an important niche I think this community could really benefit from. Either way, there's a real good chance I'll commission something for myself again too (Im looking a you Alexandria Arsenal type XIX).

Lovely! I think it's a great piece for a fair price. I've been emailing with Tomek Kowmal a bit, but in the meantime settled on a much more moderately priced offering from Sylwester Pekul at Kuznia Rycerzska. It should be done in a couple more weeks. Mine is the older Hungarian style with the straight quillions and no thumb ring (Batorowka or "Bathory Saber"). He also does the L Hilt like this, though. I can't speak to quality yet.
I love that you did this. Hopefully the eastern styles continue to grow in popularity stateside. I can see myself dreaming up a few more projects for you, Alan.
