But, but ....I knew what I wanted and gave Sinosword very detailed researched specs. .....I just didn't take Vans advice about the weight. ......LOL! Not talking about you specifically - though I may still give you a hard time about it. In this case, I'm just saying that Sinosword has a -ton- of options that might get someone new just plain lost.

Gentlemen, thank you for sharing, I am definitely going to look these up when I get the time (likely not today), I will also give a review when I get my Ryojin in a couple weeks (if delivery time lives up to the advert).

Hi there, first post (though I've been lurking a lot) and first Katana, that I decided to offer myself for my mid-life crisis (I guess - wife approves). So, ordered a t10 Ryujin Custom with bo-hi - maybe a bit light for me, but my wife is certainly interested to try the thing, so that's it for a first. Waiting impatiently for delivery, hoping saya and tsuka color choices will match well in real life. That being said, we're looking to re-decorate our bedroom and are looking for some good and functional looking blades to add to it. I fumbled on these on Amazon, Auwiy (or Auway in Canada, same thing) but can't for the life of Zorg find any reviews on the products, though I speculate they may be a subsidiate from LQ-swords. Hello. I am a new member on the SBG Forum.
I know this post is somewhat old but thought I would share my experience with the Auwiy also known as Auway swords. I bought one of these swords over a year ago. It was one of those Platinum Katanas that they offer. I was wanting a katana primarily for display purposes and the sword seemed to fit the bill.
The sword was not damaged and did not have any obvious flaws upon initial inspection. It was clearly marked as for Display Only purposes on the package. The description stated that it was made of 1060 DH hardened steel with a real hamon The fittings were alloy or made of Pewter and decorated with gold paint of some type.
The blade was not very sharp but did have a edge on it. I hung it up on the wall for a while and forgot about it and then one day decided to try and cut with it. It didn't cut well until I put a edge on the thing. After I put a edge on the sword the thing actually cut decently. I was able to cut soft to medium targets with it and it still held its edge.
The handle was double pegged and did have a full tang. It have cut with it frequently and the sword has held together and has not developed any rattles or looseness as of yet. While it may be functional, I still think it better to use the sword as a display piece. There are much better swords out there in my opinion such as Musashi or some of the other brands mentioned here on SBG.I only gave $123 for the sword so I didn't really like I got that bad of a deal. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FF5W8RW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1I hope this was of some help

First, hi and welcome to the forum!
Thank you for the input, though it's been a while. I have personally moved beyond Auway's kind of swords since I started looking at katana, guess time and knowledge and pondering got me over the initial flashy look of their style. Also read somewhere that it was afiliated with Ryanswords, though is it true or not I couldn't say, and won't matter since I don't intend to buy from those anymore.
Have a good stay on the SBG forums.
