What oil should we use to keep the blade from changing colors. We're using Choji oil right now and it's no good. The blade will start to change colors over night.

Choji oil available online is probably a mineral type oil with some oil of cloves (smells nice). Pure clove oil is not a good choice...I tried pure oil of cloves and the 1095 blade rusted. BTW, I have both DH (clay tempered) 1095 and T10 blades...they are both excellent steels...though my T10 hamon, using the same level of polish, was easier to see--more distinct.
That original sword$$$ looked to have a rectangular cross section tsuka....looked like it would be uncomfortable in the hand with prolonged use. Oval cross section tsuka more comfortable and more tradition.

I am presently using electric clipper/razor oil, works well for my swords. When I run out I will probably switch to cheaper sewing machine oil, which I read is perfectly fine too.
