Longsword- now that you getting a sword, do you what to learn how to use it? Or do you just want to do some back yard cutting with it?

I would like to learn how to use it properly, as well as doing backyard cutting.
How I will go about that I'm not sure yet, I've been reading up on some stuff online but thats about it so far.

That would be cool. You guys could start your own Western Martial Arts group in Northern CA.
I am sure ARMA/HACA started out much the same way, "Hey it's John do you want to come over for some sword practice?"

Yeah that would be cool. Lodi's about 50 miles out or so, not too bad but I dunno how often I could make it. What do you guys do, just cut stuff up or do you spar and stuff?
