I used to watch it with my nephew. We'd sit down at the end of the day and watch a few episodes. I think I got up to the fight with Pain on the Shippuden series. Not a bad show, but the filler was brutal, hahaha.

Not a bad show, but the filler was brutal, hahaha. Considering the manga ended a couple years ago, yet the anime is, somehow, still going, I'd say that's an understatement.

Going in, I wasn't entirely sure I'd finish this episode of ACCA, but it turned in a fairly different direction than I was expecting and so kept my interest; I assumed that the jealous beat cop would use Jean's lighter to frame him for arson and that was, indeed, his plan, but thanks to a PI/journalist friend of his, Jean found him and talked things over with him. He basically pointed out, again, that he makes less than the beat cop, so he's not rich, and he only lives in a luxurious building because he's the landlord (technically); he also receives his cigarettes for free (dunno who from, though), so he may look wealthy, but he's actually almost dirt poor. Once he understands this, the beat cop has no real issue with him and even develops a crush on Jean's sister. On the other end of the spectrum, though, the higher ups are looking to implicate Jean in a potential coup d'etat and assign a deep cover watcher to him. Said watcher turns out to be his best friend, whom he's known since high school, by the code name Crow. Unusually, he feels no confliction over this and even spouts the rather creepy line about how Jean has never noticed Crow's watching in the 30 years he, Crow, has known him, which is a fair bit longer than the 15 years previously mentioned.

Oh, Akiba's Trip. That idol parody was hilariously lazy, especially considering Tamotsu's reaction (and his "upgrade"). Also, did we get a blatant Carl's Jr thrown in and not some lazy copyright dodge? And I really didn't expect Nakata Jouji to be in this; I'm listening to him as Kage-san and keep expecting a "yorokobe, shounen" to pop up, but it's closer to his Nyanta voice than anything. I also never expected him to turn Tamotsu into an audiophile snob. His downward spiral is kinda hard to watch 'cause you know it's only barely a parody. The funniest part, though, is when his credit card bill comes due and he has to get a job to pay it off and we find out that, despite absolutely hating it, Matome has more or less accepted the group name "Electric Mayonnaise". The girls get scouted to be idols and Arisa drags them along while Tamotsu does a variety of jobs (construction, package delivery, window washing, fake rose maker), cutting between the two regularly... Until it becomes pretty apparent by the inevitable swimsuit scene that the girls aren't going to be idols, but rather AV stars. Amusingly, thanks to his latest job, Tamotsu is cleaning in the background; beyond that, though, we get a hilarious gem from Arisa when she's told to take off her top: she's cool with it until the other girls stop her and her reaction is simply "oh, yeah, if I show everything off now, I'll have nothing to fall back on when my career goes south". Naturally, the producer and cameraman turn out to be Bugged Ones and they get defeated thanks to Tamotsu being the janitor providing unexpected backup. As recompense, the producer (who was merely controlled and not a full blown Bugged One like the cameraman) offers to be their producer for real and they have a mini concert in front of a tiny audience at the end.
Kobayashi-san was hilarious. The scene in the shopping district where Kobayashi finds out Tohru's better at socializing than her was gold, but the bit with Kanna afterwards was gold... More so when it comes to the chocolate... And then seeing what dragons consider "roughhousing". I'd be just as freaked out as Kobayashi, waking up to that; especially when she accidentally crushed their dreams. It was also quite amusing to see Tohru attempting to teach Kanna the ways of our world and somehow deciding that a see-saw is a training device to teach kids how to combat flying monsters. Kobayashi eventually sets them straight at the end of the episode, but with the strength they put into it, it's a bit of a moot point. Next episode ought to be interesting, since it seems Quetzalcoatl is making her debut.
KonoSuba was... Well, it was KonoSuba. Watching Kazuma and then Aqua freak out over Darkness' current absence, the appearance of Chomsuke, followed by Kazuma explaining Darkness' (possible) state to Megumin and Megumin's reaction (dropping Chomsuke), and finally the investigator lady, Sena, showing up with an urgent quest: Megumin firing her explosion several times to free Kazuma from prison woke up the hibernating giant toads, so they now have to kill them. The best part is Meguming giving a grand speech... While standing in a toad's mouth and telling Kazuma to help Aqua first, because it's quite warm in the toad and she's already used her explosion, so she can only slow that one down. Then we find Kazuma's learned a new skill: Snipe, an archery skill that has a better success rate the higher your luck stat (of which Kazuma has in abundance), which will make up for their lack of ranged attacks. Kazuma pulls off the perfect badass shot and nails the toad right between the eyes... Only for it to be completely ineffective because of how big the toads are. He defeats it, but then Megumin spots three more heading for them. While they're running, first Sena and then Aqua gets nommed by the toads, leaving Kazuma to run from the last while Megumin slowly gets swallowed. Lucky for everyone, Yunyun makes her genuine appearance and saves them, naturally while being tsun about it. After the introduction, Yunyun challenges Megumin to a fight, who accepts, but uses the toad slime all over her to win... Then she attacks Kazuma after he mentions her being prettier than Yunyun while telling him he should be happy, because some people would pay good money to have a slimy girl all over them. Then we get a hilarious argument between the two that ends with them both in the bath together (ponytail Megumin!), followed by them freaking out when Aqua gets back and Kazuma doing his best to not get branded "Loli-NEET" or something equally embarrassing, but ends up with the nickname anyway thanks to poor word choice around Megumin. Then things get hilarious when Yunyun challenges Megumin to another duel in the form of a friendship crystal... Without realizing beforehand that it creates friendship by exposing embarrassing secretes. Megumin gets her to admit her loss when she mentions being in the kind of relationship with Kazuma where they bathe together; seeing her blush before the credits was priceless.

Youjou Senki finished up its flashback with a pretty chilling implication: in order to use her new magic gem, Tanya has to utter that prayer and it will eventually (essentially) brainwash her into being a devout follower of Being X. Which really sucks, because everything we've seen of it indicates that, whatever its true nature, Being X is a petty, vindictive semprini. That said, Tanya's internal giddiness at the beginning over being posted to the rear being immediately diminished upon the prototype gem exploding in her face was quite amusing. And later, when it seemed Tanya really was going to get a comfy academy posting while the brass was talking about a rapid-response team, I just knew things would conspire to place her as one of the members.

Chain Chronicle was quite good, once more picking a good stopping point. Aram helps out a weapons merchant and receives a high quality short sword as recompense, as well as a congratulatory gift for joining the Volunteer Army; meanwhile, Bruckhardt is being told to join Yuri's party and teach Aram swordsmanship, which he doesn't take the best as he feels it's his princess's way of casting him off for being injured. That said, he still makes an effort... Until he sees the sword Aram received and assumes he stole it. He trudges away in shame after the person who gave it to him comes to his defense despite everyone else believing Aram. During their first stop that night, Bruckhardt runs off to the woods to be alone with his wounds obviously paining him in spite of having been healed; as a result, the curse from it calls the black mage girl, who aggravates his condition, speeding up the process. It makes him think he's been abandoned by those he swore to protect and causes him to turn into a fairly powerful demon before the episode ends.
Demi-chan was quite amusing, though the amount of trouble a succubus goes through was a bit depressing. Since she naturally emits incredible amounts of pheromones, Satou literally can't dress in anything other than drab track outfits or else she'd be swarmed by members of the opposite sex (and probably the same sex, too), because she sends out erotic dreams when she sleeps, she can't live in an apartment complex or high rise, so she lives out in the country; by the looks of it, she lives at least an hour and a half from the school and avoids rush hour by taking the first and last trains of the day. As a result, she spends most of her days kinda out of it from sleep deprivation. Amusingly, though, this causes her to trip and for Takahashi to catch her... And not react to her pheromones, which might as well be cupid's arrow for her; good thing she didn't see him duck around the corner so he could go weak kneed and clutch his heart from the excitement of said pheromones. It was then particularly funny to see Macchi ask Satou for advice to deal with her crush on Takahashi and she starts empathizing with Macchi... And getting annoyed that Macchi doesn't mind keeping her current hairstyle because Takhashi said they kinda match. Despite being mostly an amusing episode, they just had to ruin it at the end with Kusakabe, the yuki-onna, overhearing some girls talking behind her back and getting depressed over it; I can really sympathize with her, there, being an introvert myself. Having someone invite you somewhere out of the blue is pretty nerve wracking and then to overhear someone calling you arrogant because of it? Bleh. Can't wait to see her get her focus episode next week.

Finally got around to Gundam; I elected to get some sleep this morning rather than watch it so I could give it the attention it deserved and I'm glad I did. Nothing was unexpected, but that didn't stop it from being a very depressing episode. And infuriating.
Having been framed for transporting an illegal weapon, called Dainsleif, Turbines is attacked by Gjallarhorn's Arianrhod fleet. They knew it was coming, so Naze and Amida have all their girls flee in transport ships, including the bridge crew leaving just them aboard the Hammerhead. Meanwhile, Orga is beating himself up over not being able to help, but is saved when Shino and Akihiro come in and basically say "we're going to help whether you approve or not" under the guise that they just happened to be nearby and are rescuing civilians, which wouldn't put them in conflict with Gjallarhorn, making Tekkadan a criminal organization. Sounds good in theory, but it quickly becomes pointless when we switch back to the Turbines' end of things: Naze requests a cease-fire via signal flare, but Iok ignores it on the basis that none of the ships actually saw the flare. He then launches a platoon of mobile suits armed with Dainsleif's launching projectiles capable of easily penetrating nanolaminate armor... And has them target the fleeing transport ships. When the girls abandon ship and flee in launches, Iok has his men target those instead. At least one entire launch is destroyed as a result. When Naze clears the smokescreen he launched to try and protect the girls, he launches a flare announcing his surrender, in full view of all ships in the area... But Iok ignores that, as well. Amida, in her season 1 suit, manages to fend off Julietta's custom, top-of-the-line machine while charging at Iok's ship to take him out; sadly, she gets hit by a barrage of Dainsleifs (that also grazes Julietta) before she can, but we get an awesome last moment for her when she uses the last of everything at her disposal to fire a single shot that damn near destroys the window of Iok's bridge. I imagine many bricks were shat on that bridge, especially since Iok had previously refused to go into combat mode, which would have prevented that very thing. Enraged, Naze rushes the Hammerhead on a collision course and nearly manages to take out Iok's ship, but another barrage of Dainsleifs destroys the Hammerhead's bridge (and seriously wounds Naze), causing it to merely scrape the side before crashing into the ship next to Iok's and destroying both in a magnificent explosion. Akihiro, Ride, and Shino destroyed most of the forces attacking the girls, but they probably feel like they might as well have not been there at all since all they could do for Naze and Amida was watch their final stand.
I knew it was going to happen, but that doesn't lessen the impact. The one consolation we got from this episode is a rather amusing misunderstanding between Akihiro and Lafter. When he shows up and sends her to protect her family while he keeps Gjallarhorn off their back, she tells him that she's going to squeeze him real hard the next time she sees him, with the obvious meaning being that she's going to hug him fiercely and possibly even confess her feelings; Akihiro, however, is left wondering why she wants to strangle him.

Finally got around to Gabriel Dropout, which I kinda forgot about yesterday thanks to getting distracted. Was not expected the coffee shop already; seeing the lengths to which Gabriel will go to slack off reminds me a bit of Tanaka-kun. Then finding out Vigne is a massive scaredy cat and can't handle anything remotely scary (and has to watch them while clutching her teddy bear) was priceless. And when Satania visits Gabriel's coffee shop "I'd rather die than get ordered around by her, so I decided to do her in first." That poor manager getting caught in the crossfire... At least Vigne's angelic enough to heal him afterwards.
ACCA was rather interesting. Turns out the brass aren't the ones intending to frame Jean for the coup d'etat, just one of them; based on dialogue, it looks like it'll probably turn into a fight (probably not a literal one considering the way the show's gone before) between Grossular of ACCA, who wants ACCA to have absolute power, and Schwan, the crown prince who wants to dissolve ACCA and return all power to the throne. Of course, we only have one person's word to go on regarding Grossular's desires, so it could end up being someone else, but Schwan spoke his desires quite plainly. I imagine that the Nino/Crow situation may come to a head fairly soon since he invited Jean's sister to the capital out of nowhere on a rather flimsy pretense and made sure Jean knew she was there.

I'm beginning to wonder just what the production crew of Akiba's Trip smokes before each episode and where I can get some, because it's clearly some strong stuff. That was probably the most ridiculous episode yet, but I kept chuckling throughout, so that's not necessarily a bad thing. Special mention goes to the Aluminum Rangers at the end.
Kobayashi-san was hilarious. The part where they had to move because Kobayashi's apartment was getting cramped with all three of them that was settled by having a communal space (that can double as a dragon wash) was good, but then you get the noisy neighbors, including two of the funnier looking ones we saw in the OP; I'm with everyone else, though: how do you make those kinds of noises cooking? The party, though, was gold. Fafnir can best be summed up as a riajuu-hating hikikomori dressed like a butler... And Kobayashi's work friend immediately gets him hooked on Dark Souls. Quetzalcoatl, or Lucoa, dresses, as Kobayashi put it so succinctly, a bit slutty (a tank top, hot pants that barely cover her backside, finished off with thighhighs?), but is otherwise a pretty calm person, though she has some extremely unique eyes that you get a glimpse of once or twice; one is green with white lines going through it and a black & gold pupil, while the other is purple with a yellow & green pupil. She's also very wary around alcohol because of an embarrassing incident in her past. Now we just have one more dragon to meet, but we won't get to meet her next episode by the looks of it, since Kanna goes to school (not that she needs to, according to the episode title).
KonoSuba was... KonoSuba. We get another Megumin Explosion Montage before the OP, followed by Kazuma bribing an adventure to butt out with a Succubus Brothel coupon. Then Aqua ignores Kazuma's recommendation to stay behind while he scouts the dungeon; meanwhile, Megumin amps up her chuuni by trying out new chants for Explosion, complete with poses. We get some great back and forth between Kazuma and Aqua, the return of the "Hai, Kazuma" joke, and... What the f*&k?! That mimic was f*&^ing terrifying. I'll stick to Dark Souls mimics that are just chests with creepy, spindly legs and arms eight or nine feet long with gaping maws and a long tongue sticking out of the chest. Luckily we go back to humor with a quick scene of Darkness being "tortured (obviously being forced into a fancy dress or something similarly mundane) before we get a repeat of Aqua's "Turn Undead" marathon. They finally get back with the treasure (despite Aqua being catnip to undead) and everyone gets rip roaring drunk and they want Kazuma to use steal on a handkerchief as a party trick... Unfortunately (for her), Chris walks in right behind the target and naturally loses her panties (again).

Really enjoying Youjo Senki. Even though there was no action in this one, it was still a good episode, particularly as we see just how thoroughly screwed Tanya is by Being X, when Zattour uses her own attempts to get out of going back to the front lines as a method of sending her out. You also gotta love just how manipulative she was with Uger and the face she makes afterwards.

Chain Chronicle was quite interesting, introducing more locales and people fighting against the Black Army; more interestingly, there are rioters attempting to join said army based on a rumor that the Black King will spare those who do. Meanwhile, the heroes arrive at their initial destination of the Sage's Towers only to be confronted by the Sorcerer's Army that makes up its membership, as one of their bosses, a Sage named Melchior, wants to test their might... Or so he says. As the Sage they came to see, Fatima, reveals, he was just taking out his frustration on them because his recent experiments failed. Upon passing, they're joined by some sorcerers and a young girl wielding a giant sword who, if I'm reading the implications correctly, is some form of simulacrum; after they set out, we get a rather ominous cliffhanger of an obelisk being destroyed by a bolt of lightning and an insectile-humanoid thing rising from beneath it.
Demi-chan was great. Aside from the really nice seriousness of touching on Yuki's issues while dealing with the mean remarks, it was quite hilarious seeing Satou get overexcited about helping Takahashi with him trying to maintain his cool around her. And I lost it during the hugging scene; poor Satou. You also really have to feel sorry for Takahashi winning over Himari only for it to be completely (briefly) undone by a text from Hikari. Oh, man, I'm really loving this show.
Gundam was interesting as it dealt with the fallout of Naze and Amida's deaths and the dissolution of Turbines. Iok has somehow yet to get a bullet in the back, but it looks like someone's lining up the rifle to take the shot, as McGillis is investigating the weapon he took and Rustal appears to be throwing him under the bus; meanwhile, Jasley is looking forward to a coup in Teiwaz's leadership and openly badmouths Naze at his funeral in front of a couple dozen Turbines girls and Tekkadan. He's lucky to still be alive, unfortunately. On a more amusing note, Akihiro is completely deaf to all the signals Lafter is tossing his way until his friends pull him aside and try to explain before just telling him to go with her. Unfortunately, despite everything, they part ways with a lot unsaid, but at least Lafter makes good on her promise to give him a hug. We get a little introspection from Orga, but that kinda gets forgotten when Mika and Atra are talking about babies and Atra lets slip she doesn't want to have one with anyone but Mika, who flat out asks if she wants to make a baby. Then things take a turn for the worst with Jasley wanting Tekkadan to fight and using a gunman to take out Lafter to provoke it. Well, he got the fight he wants and he's not going to like it, because Akihiro, personally, is on the warpath and Orga has given Mika permission to obliterate everything they come up against, no matter who it is. I hope Jasley's death is slow and painful.

I was finally able to sit down and get some time in. Caught up on Demi-chan, Gabriel Dropout, Tanya and KonaSuba. Liking all four. I loved how Tanya just kept digging herself deeper trying to get a cushy job, and the whole introduction to this reality of the concept of a World War.

So I had Acca downloaded yesterday, but got completely absorbed in something else and realized I didn't realy care; it's an interesting show, but it's not really my thing and I was mainly keeping up with it to have something for Tuesday. I may come back to it later, but for now, it's dropped. Anyway.
Akiba's Trip was hilarious. Niwaka gets kidnapped by a Bugged One who holds her hostage, to be freed should Tamotsu win a Street Fighter V tournament; problem is, he absolutely sucks at fighting games, so the Doctor conveniently invented a training regimen for him. The training montage parody, that ended with burning at the stake, was priceless and it even had the characters (minus the Doctor) cringing... And it failed so completely Tamotsu loses in the first round with his opponent getting a Perfect KO. Hilariously, we're then told (via voice over from Nakata Jouji) that he remained undefeated in the consolation matches and still managed to get to the championship... Somehow. He wins the first round and the girls celebrate, only to be told by random gamers that that's how Matsuko, the champ, operates, and all the Doctor can do is complain about wanting to know who the hell these guys are. She beats him easily in the second round, but going into the final round, she doffs her sweater to reveal a flimsy tanktop underneath, which is apparently her usual strategy according to the announcer... And then Arisa starts expositing about how it's actually an ancient Chinese art called the Fists of Shame that allows one to back themselves into a corner and excel. And then Matsuko tosses her skirt, starts beating Tamotsu, who decides to lose his own shirt and things just get more and more ridiculous from there. In the end, the Bugged One is completely different than expected and Niwaka's just chilling in a room labeled "The Hostage Room" and everything's all right. Except maybe everyone's sanity, but that went out the window sometime during episode 1.
Kobayashi-san was really funny and Kanna was just too freaking adorable. Watching them do all the supply shopping so Kanna can go to school (not that she needs to) was great, especially as Kanna sinks into depression over the stores not having cute things. When she finally gets to school, she's the star because she's very smart and physically capable, which one girl doesn't like, introducing us to Riko, the brunette from the OP... What the OP didn't show us is how reflective her forehead is. Kanna solves it with a bit of crocodile tears... Or should that be dragon tears? And scores some candy. We then get a brief bit of Kanna putting name tags on her things which Tohru responds to by sticking on with her name on Kobayashi's cheek. Then things get ridiculous when we find out Saikawa challenged some older kids to dodgeball because one of them was being a semprini. Naturally with Kanna, Tohru, Fafnir, and Loca, they win without even really trying. Only they haven't had enough, so it turns into a battlefield. Luckily, Loca can restore the playground and tweak memories so it's like it never happened.
KonoSuba was KonoSuba. Following the standard argument between Kazuma and Aqua over what to sell to survive, Darkness busts in in a fancy dress... But none of them recognize her. When they finally realize it, they all act like the lord forced her to his bed despite her trying to tell them that's not what happened (and the episode title backs it up). The lord wants her to marry his son and her father is agreeable because he likes the son (but hates the father) and Kazuma doesn't exactly mind because it'd mean their mostly useless crusader would leave. So he gets Megumin to handle some monsters so he can subtly get Darkness married without her wits messing things up. That said, damn does Darkness clean up nice once things get underway. Then we find out just how far down the depravity hole Darkness has gone when she admits she has no interest in the almost Gary Stu fiance she's meeting and wants a man that's basically complete trash and in debt who'll tell her to prostitute herself to earn them money. Then comes the most hilarious thing: her fiance came to turn down the marriage, but seeing Darkness act like her normal self changed his mind. Just as funny is that, under all that finery, Darkness is apparently wearing black lace lingerie... While going commando. She then gets into a bit of a duel with Kazuma, that he wins after a hard (and dirty) fight... And then Darkness' father walks in. Things get straightened out pretty easily and get settled until Darkness wakes up and tells everyone that she's pregnant with Kazuma's kid... And somehow everyone believes her. And then Sena walks in with Megumin looking for Kazuma.

Youjo Senki was pretty good. The training sequence, while not particularly in depth, really gave a taste of just what kind of hell those soldiers experienced; I also enjoyed Tanya's method of weeding out the chaff (read: procrastinate as much as possible) beforehand. Also... I really felt bad for the Dakians (Romania) when they come up against Tanya's battalion. Unencrypted messages, no air forces, and trying to fight according to mid-19th century military doctrine in a world where mages seem pretty standard in most militaries. No wonder Tanya referred to the "battle" as a live-fire exercise. And her voice when alerting the Dakian munitions factory of their impending attack... I'm surprised anyone in the battalion kept a straight face.
