Is there a certain idea behind having those two spikes on the back of the blade and the arc between?
Will the arc be sharpened or blunt for some kind of halfswording?

Looks awesome. Will the handle be stained? Ye; according to Wes its bone micarta which will be stained and polished. The steel guard/bolsters will be kinda blackened. |
