So at its current tally; not including spears, axes, and the like; I have 16 swords. My biggest problem is how to display them. I'm currently using typical Japanese style horizontal stand that holds 13 swords. However, horizontal stands are not ideal for European style blades. The biggest issue being that their point of balance is far closer to the guard. As a result you have to offset the blades fairly drastically. Now to help keep the stand balanced I alternate the orientation of the blades from left to right. This helps keep the stand balanced as well as keeps guards from knocking into one another. But it's so cluttered and isn't very aesthetically pleasing. Additionally it's difficult to get planes on and off the stand without bumping into one another. To be perfectly honest I'm about ready to start making my own sword stance. However I don't really have the facilities as it were.
Personally I like the aesthetics of the fan style display stands. However, I have never seen one used with blades in their scabbards. Also the Blade USA version is no longer in production. I was actually wondering what stands or methods other people use to display their swords? Are there any other options that I'm not aware of etc?

I've hung a number of my euro blades on the wall with the self adjusting hangers from KoA. Even cheaper and easier is a nail in the wall and a loop of string or leather around the guard. It's not pretty but it works.

I use a drywall anchor, screw and steel fishing leader, wrapped around the base of the blade. The swords hang "invisibly", tip down from the wall and appear to float (the screw and fishing leader are hidden by the hilt). You could use a nail and string/leather but my method will hold up to 75lbs and is not visible. Attachments:

Thanks for all the suggestions. I may consider a few of those once I get a permanent residents. However, I'm currently residing in an apartment that wouldn't like me mounting things like that.
In the end I'm looking for stands. Anyone use any production stands that aren't the Japanese styles?

I've made a few point of balance stands that work quite well. They are pretty easy to make or I think Albion Swords sells them aswell.

A few weeks ago there was someone who posted a picture of a display they made - it was basically a 2x4 painted white screwed into the wall horizontally with swords hung vertically by their hilts with hooks. It was a very simple look and eliminated the need for drywall anchors or spacing your swords at the studs. That might suit your needs.

I use these: sbg-sword-forum.forums.net/thread/40025/cheap-sword-hanger-on-koaFor five bucks, you can't go wrong. You may want to use a better drywall anchor than the one provided, if the swords will be taken down and rehung often. I have 24 swords on an 8 foot by 8 foot US wall space in one room. And? I have three walls left:). I would LOVE to see a picture of that!

Good stuff. Buy I think people are missing my point. I'm looking for examples of dispay stands. Not wall displays. I can't mount anything on my walls. No nails, screws, or hooks. I can use thumb tacks and sticky tack. So wall mounting is out. I need a stand that sits on the floor or on a table. I like these but I'm not married to it. Also, I would like my swords to stay in their scabards if possible. Any thoughts?

Personally I use a lockable display cabinet and display my swords on the shelves on point of balance displays (noted previously). The display stands you are showing would seem to fit your needs but I guess it's more of a style decision. I just did a Google search for "sword display stands" under images and found this: m.swordnarmory.com/item/31323233?origin_referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com.au%2F might also fit your needs.

I keep meaning to DO this.... then I get stuck for two weeks running CAT6 cable . Really - the whole thing is so simple that it is frightening.... Oak 1x2 on the STUDS. EBAY "wide coat hooks" on the 1x2's. I can even take the whole thing down for painting, without tearing it all apart . Side note - I have a Web enabled Security Cam TRAINED on that wall.... and the Security Photos go off site . You can't get to the cam before it gets to YOU . You could wear a Gorilla mask..... but the other Six Camera's will get your Car & License . One might even cut the POWER line.... dammit, he's got a NatGas backup generator..... (Damn Geek.......) . I'd just like to see a picture of all your customized swords lined up together, looking sexy...

This floor rack holds 59 blades and sticks out from the wall only 12" and is approximately 5' wide.

I've always loved the way the swords are displayed in this picture. They did a fantastic job. Looks like a museum.

Don’t worry about Votan, I’d be delighted to have you in my country. We have about 7,000 tremors a year and most go undetected. But then there are those that break the 6 mark and I have known one or two to break 7. Have no fear because I would be most willing to help pick up the pieces. Hehehe. Seriously, that’s a great collection. Thanks for sharing.
