Sidebar for darth, don't mean to interrupt but topical at the same time. Guitars for swords. Guess which one I sold. In the end, the one I had for decades and played the least. Warts and all but conserved, it was my Dan Armstrong (proved to be a good investment). My thinline Harmony H54 is my bedroom noodler and the worn finish from my sweat and tears now part of my life. As the bindings yellow, I reflect on its life before me as I dust it and clean the fingerboard. My beat around Hagstrom in the basement, with a few others. I peek at them all from time to time and check the tune. Keeping the dust off most of them, waiting for their own futures. My deceased brother's Giannini is spooky to play and a great guitar but it just feels wrong. We need to get re-acquainted. Another old friend and frontman's Strat had exactly the same spooky vibe to handle. Only a few blades have made me feel the same way.
My only blades behind glass and that could be considered "safe queens" are a few knives. My favorite swords are mostly ignored at public shows and I wonder why I even bother to display them. Most don't get the history at all.

Interestingly, I have one of these but marked with a number 50 and not in such amazing condition.
My late parents kept it hidden under their bed supposedly to fend off burglers. I have no idea how or where they acquired it.
Knowing nothing about swords, I recently asked an auctioneer about its value and he told me it was an 1880's British Cavalry Sword worth around £300 GBP

It has this fabulous photo in it as well (originally from a 1909 postcard), which I processed to fit here. It zooms quite a bit.
