All major shipping companies have raised rates both in domestic and international shipping very recently. $64 is a might expensive, which is why it's usually better to either do a group buy, or see if you can find what you want from a local dealer.

Yeah your right the way forward is to store up a number of items and combine the postage. I just balked at the $64usd postage price as I purchased a Bowie last month from DLT trading and the shipping was only about $25usd, that feels very reasonable for shipping a knife.

It more than tripled to even go to Canada, use to be about as cheap to ship to Canada as it was to the conus.

I wanted to order something from KoA, turns out it was going to cost me $100 for the shipping, that is pretty bloody unacceptable when the price of shipping is almost as much as the item itself.

With the low Aussie dollar and high postage it is becoming an expensive hobby, I very rarely impulse buy now. It is very easy to creep up to that dreaded 1K mark when Customs and GST kick in bringing even the most frugal collector to their knees.

If shipping is going to cost that much, check if anyone in Australia has them in stock. Probably won't cost much more.

But the Dirk itself is $25 more on knifecenter, so it's swings and roundabouts.

Did you email KoA to confirm that shipping price? That is a very steep price for posting a knife.

Thanks for that, but unfortunately would still be a tad cheaper at KoA, I'll still email them..... Unless I get a rush of blood and order more stuff to make the postage worthwhile

I have an outstanding order from KoA somewhere out there in never-never land. I thought the domestic shipping a bit high to the exporter but as this was steel armour I figured the weight was to blame. It is always a surprise when receiving the international shipping cost, so it looks like I may be in for a yet bigger surprise. Hopefully I’ll know the extent of damage sometime next week.

Emailed KoA and postage us correct at $64USD I'll have to think on it, might come back to it at a later date as a combined postage item.

Hey Paul, I could help you out bloke, reckon $140 USD delivered to you in VIC would cover it (approx $200 AUD). I can just add to my next order and you can pay me when it's here if you like? Let me know if there is other stuff too, the folding knife laws changed so any non-assisted, non auto's are legal to import now too (it did happen a while back, but now I'm happy it's actually in place!). Might be a few weeks till they get here as I just got stuff is all... Any other Aussies let me know and I'll help out if I can. Money up front for first timers, everyone else I'm happy to quote and you can pay me when it's here - within reason of course - big pete looking at you bloke! As Dave mentioned if it's going near $1K I can ship it straight to you as no combining postage will be possible, or over $1K then taxes will be payable. Cheers y'All!

Nice list Paul!
The Dirk as mentioned $200 AUD delivered The Targe - wow nice piece - really hard to work out shipping, and KOA only place to get it from. Leave it with me. The Hanwei SH2003 - $475 AUD delivered The Bark river, dont see the ironwood in stock, a green micarta one would be $260 AUD delivered though. The wood ones a little more.
just PM me if you can decide on any... Cheers!
