WOW! Mine came razor sharp. I’ve only cut a little with mine, the usual plastic bottles etc., and have not experienced any problems with the blade. A lot has change in the last decade or so. Perhaps yours sneaked through QC undetected.

Yeah, I found it odd as well. The blades did not even cut into the bottles. They simply flew across the yard. Cut through the milk cartons no problem. But pop bottles...nope! Anyways, I contacted SBG support about it. They really are only little nicks on the blades. I just found it odd considering it is such a lite target and none of my other blades have ever done that. We'll see what SBG support has to say. Thanks for the help guys. I'll let you know what happens.

So, at the end of the day...Paul Southern refunded me fully for the Butterfly Swords and I ended up purchasing the TFW ones. I couldn't be happier with the TFW Butterfly Swords. I prefer the profile of the Cold Steel ones, but I did not like their performance. The TFW ones go through everything. Scary!
I was really disappointed with Cold Steel's response on this one. They did not take any responsibility for the blades. It was up to SBG to make things right. I had no doubt about SBG. But I won't purchase from Cold Steel again. I do not know fully what happened behind the scenes...but I do know that Paul had some conversations with Cold Steel.
I cannot say enough about my positive experience with SBG and of course Paul. But I am soured by my experience with Cold Steel. It sucks because there are some Cold Steel blades that I was looking at. But at least I know now...
Anyways, this update was long overdue and am sorry it took so long. The process took awhile due to the communications with Cold Steel.
Not trying to steer people away from Cold Steel products. I am sure some are good. This is just my experience with them and I will not purchase from them again.
Thanks for reading and thanks for the advice everyone.
Ryan
TFW...Awesome! Once again!

A happy ending! Fantastic. Glad you like the TFW. They have some of the best blades for hard use and performance at a reasonable price.

Thank you for taking the time to follow up with this. So many archive threads end with an "I'll let you know what happens" post. No criticism at anyone in any way - it's just good to have this kind of info shared among the community.
I hate to see a name-brand maker sell a lemon and then fail to make it right. On the other hand, it's good to see credit given where due. Way to go SBG.
I have become a huge TFW fan. I sooooo wish SBG was a TFW vendor.
