Thana357...quick question, since you, too, are a fellow Da Dao lover. Of your Da Dao, which is your favorite and why? I've not handled any of the Hanwei Da Dao. I really wanted their military da dao, but that one is gone and no one is selling theirs these days. I know the military da dao was developed with Scott Roddell, and I love my Hanwei Cutting Jian he designed.
I do still like the looks of this cheapie dadao, though, so am tempted!

Dadaos are so cool. I think I'll write a book on the tactical use of the dadao.

My Favorite Da Dao is Master Zhi sword . I did a review in 2008 or 2009, I like it because it look exactly like what the Chinese soldiers used during WWII - the wide blade with less pointy tip , simple iron guard and long handle. I ordered mine with hand sharpening service ($40) so it will cut mat and plastic bottles with no problem. Han Wie Military Da Dao has distal taper , it is well balance but the guard and leather wrap are ugly ,it is too flashy and too civilian for my taste . They only offered this model for a few years. You will have to keep an eyes on the classicfy ad and E bay for a use one I spend couple of days putting an edge on the Master Cutlery Da Dao but the thick blade and its excess weight make this one less fun compare to other .I guess if I keep sharpening it I will reduce its weight eventually from all this grinding .

I had forgotten about this but I'm back to dadao... it'll either be the Condor or the MC next.

condor dadao is the best bang for the buck ever, its so sturdy and if feels great in the hand, might want to cord wrap the grip tho as it does sometimes turn in my hand
