I bought a Saber a month ago. The tip broke off 2 weeks ago. I've e-mailed, called, and messaged you on Facebook. The only response I got was "my assistant will be getting in touch with you soon" which was received last week. If you aren't a scam, you need to put your services where your mouth is, Paul. Thanks for sharing the Reseller ratings link so I can respond appropriately. If he was a scam he wouldn’t have a forum where people can say what they like about the SBG store on a server which he pays to host would he idiot..... I think you’ll find most retailers are scrabbling about at the moment due to the “deliberately over hyped” (my opinion) pandemic. I can only hope you stay spared from your “deliberately over hyped” (your opinion) pandemic; only best wishes, really. I think it would be very unpleasing to get a full attack from a really dangerous, very contagious virus with a good chance to die from Covid-19 or at least go through severe illness with some interesting late effects... MY opinion, the "opinion" of two dead well-liked FB acquaintances and several hundreds of thousands other dead people. Sorry to derail the thread, but you brought it up here.

Guy has a gripe and you really don't know anything about the situation.

I agree it’s too soon for name calling, either way. I’ll have to go along with Edelweiss saying it would be informative to know more of the details. To paraphrase it and say that my toy broke, and implying Paul is responsible and is a scammer doesn’t really cut it. Everything has gotten out of whack recently. I have an issue myself that I won’t bother with here other than to say I am sure in my case no scam and is the result of everything has slowed down.

Obviously politics aren’t part of this board so I’m just going to say google World Economic Forum and Great Reset and follow the trail from there. This isn’t a personal thing by the way, I greatly respect your sword knowledge and have enjoyed the various conversations you’ve participated in over the years.

Do not derail threads. If you really must talk about the pandemic, at least go do it in the thread that's actually about it. Do not continue that train of discussion here; that goes for everyone.
Also: do not call people names or make accusations you can't show to be true.

"Is Sword Buyers Guide a Scam?"
Without a doubt, yes. All of this condescension and pedantry I'm forced to generate cuts into my productivity. I refuse to pay another dime for this service. Good day, sir.

Trust me, this site was the last resort. I had tried for nearly month if not longer to get into contact with someone and kept getting ignored. I had contacted them by Facebook, email, and phone with photos of the break, so I'm sorry if your attempt to make me feel like the scammer falls on deaf ears. I will be adjusting my review, as it was based on lack of customer services and transparency via communication than the actual product.

Well, as no one seems to want to play twenty questions, what I read so far is that if someone was pinging my business with only that information, I wouldn't be able to offer much help. I guess we should expect they gave the seller full disclosure on what the sword is and how it broke. I've broken swords, I know how it happened. Being vocal in public without the details amounts to really, very little to be supportive of. If he has also posted to the facebook group and messaged Paul through the board here, he could go ahead and ping moderators. They have no weight in resolution but may have a less noisy channel in reaching Paul. If they are just trying to be discreet without offering the facts, they had no need to even post as much as they did. An example "Hey Paul, you jerk! Give me some idea as to what you can offer me! I'm going to PM you here five times a day until you fix the problem! I'm going to post to this thread every day! Fix the problem! Or "The guy broke the sword, I have no replacement and it was drop shipped anyway. No replacement is available and.....the guy broke the sword" In the following case, I was able to contact Paul Chen directly after discussing the matter with Hanwei. They did write back that the return should be processed through the seller but the retailer I bought from was long gone. Did I get my money back" No. Did I buy a bare blade to re-hilt it? Yes. I broke even on the bare blade but ate the original cost. Definitely Hanwei's heat treat but I wasn't being gentle. I broke the sword but it might have lasted forever with normal swordly use. So, there is some truth in Paul being responsible but depending on circumstances, a refund after the sword goes back with tracking (Paul pays shipping), so the remains can either go to Valhalla, or make its way to its birth place. Full disclosure is the only way I would offer a buyer a refund. So far, all I see is someone that broke a sword and has buyer's remorse but there may be more to it. Should we care? Cheers GC

Dear God, a broken Godfred, never seen this before! True story! I've never started a poll about it. There you go Andi. You can post a poll about customer service and/or broken swords. Two polls await your muse.

You mean something like: "Who have you bought broken sword's from?" No, no. At least two threads, if not half a dozen or more.
