I like their tea and martial arts too much to go to war with the Chinese. In that case though, I still find it most appropriate to let a customer know that they are not interested in doing customs.

Could you sound anymore patronising and condescending lol! Hm? I've dealt with Huawei for 8 of my katana, that's all. i don't know why giving straightforward advice based on my personal experiences "sounds" condescending to you but sorry. Respect.

Robert, I feel for you so badly. I hope you get your sword eventually. In the meantime, just go for their stock items.

Wow 8 Huawei's! What you gona do with all them? Lol XD heck I don't know, I was on a sword binge a couple years or so back. Two I gifted to friends, the other six have their own training purposes I guess. I enjoy making minor changes that increas aesthetic value or rewrapping the ito if it wasn't done with hishi gami. On one of the 9260's they used to sell I painted the saya a cherry red with a car paint and I'm happy with how it turned out (it's pretty). Y'know, just easy things someone can do to make a sword unique and specialized to an individual. ive only made changes to half of the katana I've received so far, and until I can justify rewrapping the tsuka, the only changes that might be made to the 'stock' swords would be maybe a nice sageo.

www.aliexpress.com/store/contactinfo/626440.htmlHi Folks, Above is the Huawei Aliexpress store contact page. I went to it today again. It showed "jacky chan" to be "online" with two ways to contact...chat and message. .... Happy news (11Sept15)! I got a reply from jacky of Huawei! He said he was trying to get the correct matching menuki and that the blade got a few rust spots so he will repolish. And will let me know when the sword is ready to ship. RinC

I hope you receive it soon Robert! I have two swords from Huawei on order, and it's been a test of my patience for sure, but one that I hope will be well worth the wait! I honestly think Jacky is just super busy.

Does anybody know if Jacky ever responds through the chat on aliexpress? I have been trying to get in touch with him that way, it says he's online but he doesn't respond.

On aliexpress, I've just used the message feature, and received replies. This was within the last 3 weeks, for two separate orders on in stock items.

OK, I did try sending a message I haven't heard back yet. Do you know if the swords he has for sale on aliexpress are made already, or does he have to make them once they are bought?

Logically everything on Aliexpress should be ready to arrive at your place in 15 days, or else its automatic-money back, so I guess at least the blades will be finished.

JammyK85, I have bought from AliExpress before (non-swords), NihontoCaster's suggestion may be optimistic. Whether it is bought off Ebay or AliExpress, I tend to allow for about a month for actual delivery from order date, provided the blade has already been fabricated. I am currently beyond that on some blades which did not start fabrication until after the order. I strongly suggest purchasing a beater as the first blade (some boring mono-steel, through hardened blade). This way you can ruthlessly slay the evil water bottle/milk jug while you wait for your pretty custom blade(s) to arrive.

Thanks for the info addertooth. I spoke with Jacky, he said he's going to have some new blades on eBay next week, so I'll be waiting to see what he has.

It was very kind of you to post that (but certainly contrary to your best self interest).

Just in case somebody is still wanting to talk something with Jacky, right now he seem more active than 2-3 weeks ago, so maybe you should try it again now. Talked about a mounted Wakizashi with him and had it pretty much all solved in 2-3 days

In my experience so far, I've never waited more than two weeks to receive a sword from their ebay store. I also never requested a different option such as ito color or fittings and I've yet to buy from the aliexpress store. Delivery time does vary depending on where you live or how slowly customs is moving at the time. I used to receive swords in about 8-10 days when I lived in NY. As far as I know, the swords advertised should be ready to ship.

I had emailed him thru Ebay regarding the possibility of a semi-customized sword about a month ago. He never got back to me. I tried again about 2 weeks ago and no response. Two days ago I checked his auctions and he had a few new listings including this: www.ebay.com/itm/281786417613?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AITWhich is almost exactly what I wanted to begin with. So I bought it and messaged him regarding making a few changes, namely a saya with buffalo horn kojiri koiguchi and kurikata and he replied quickly and the price for changes was very reasonable. Not sure if he was just too busy last month or he just applies more attention to actual customers who have made a purchase vs. a casual window shopper. Either way he's been responsive post purchase and fair with price. After it arrives I'll post a review. I've also got a custom on the way from St-Nihonto that I'll review as well when it gets here. I'm new here BTW so hello!
