"Why the "Great Beast - ex Hanwei Lion Dog" is my personal favourite sword?:
It may be too heavy for me, it's not my favourite blade type either and it's just an average production katana... BUT the size and weight are proper for developing my strength and technique. I completely trust the durability and performance of this sword. I think my customization made it really unique and the design is quite strong. I've used this sword as my avatar around the internet and it has become a part of my "internet alter ego". And that overwhelming satisfaction when I hold my Great Beast... Just perfect (for me). :)
"here'S my entry for the contest, i'd like to add that i chose this sword because it was my first time in almost everything like tsuka making, tsuka maki, nakago modification, saya staining and lacquering. it's also my first sword and the first one i've cut with ever so it's pretty much my first timer :P"
"This is my favorite sword, because right now it is my only sword. It is an eBay sword from Yao at hanbon swords, also known as swordsmith 688. It's a cheapie alright, but seems well made and sturdy. But it's also my favorite because it will teach me how to care for and respect the sword."

"My favourite sword would be my Customized Hanwei/Tinker Bastard sword. Not because it's perfect, but because it came to me requiring a lot of work out of the box. I had to fix the rattling guard, then I wanted to learn how to sharpen and polish it to improve the blade. Even after all that, it still has its fair share of problems. But all the work I put into it kind of made the sword my own."

"Unsurprisingly, my favorite sword is my XVIIIb longsword. This sword represents everything I want in a sharp longsword, I made it specifically to suit me and my fencing style, incorporating features from several originals. I still have to smile every time I pick it up, it just feels so perfect. And it looks the part, too.
