I just looked at that too. It's not symmetrical. If you look closer, you can see that it's made for RH. If a LH used the sword, there would be more of the guard sticking out in the inside of the LH hand than the out side of it.

My bad. Its certainly more symmetrical than I was expecting something like the p1897 - ignore the ornate stuff 0 but the general layout of the guard itself

This thing is kind of appealing, is the same way I like my ZT d'capitan.
I'm not a fan of the cutlass tip, I'd much prefer a saber tip with at least a 6" false edge.

I dunno - for me its more of a curiosity. Instead of a cutlass with a 1904 guard, I would rather just get the 1904 saber :P

I think there is a left hand version, as I recall. I'm still not interested though. I've found it difficult to go back to modern repros after handling my originals.
