Hey Darkslyde, does this help? Hi Matt, I've been sculpting in bronze for about 8 years and I've made a few sword hilts for blades I've bought in the past. It's not all that big of a jump to add some steel to the mix. I just consider the whole thing a sculpture (part of which has to be heat treated and sharpened). You're welcome and thanks Brenno! Thanks Master293! Bloodwraith, depends on how DIY you want it. The steel for one cost something like $100 to have shipped to me. Do you just want a blank cut out and cleaned up, or that plus edge beveled, or heat treated too, or all that and cleaned up ready to mount? The eagle blade by itself with no etching ready to mount would probably cost around $450 the scalloped blade would be about $100 more. Thanks Aldwin, I'm really not a big fan of this kind of sword either, too unwieldy. I've been thinking about making another set but toning down the design so they will be well balanced and more functional.

Those are huge! Much larger than the earlier photos indicated. I'm not much of a fan of extreme fantasy swords, but THOSE are definitely works of art. Especially the hilts. They, the hilts, appear to be very functional. On smaller blades, I'd bet they'd be wicked in the hands of a character like Conan. Thanks for showing us your work and please post any others that you may construct.

Thanks Alvin ;D my next project will be more practical (sword wise anyway) Well Darkslyde, I could make a glass dagger of time, but I doubt it would actually work. Bloodwraith, the eagle bade is 39" overall with a 27"blade (when measured in a straight line from guard to tip. Hey Swordboy, yes I can. If you make it in microcrystalline wax I can cast them directly if they are not too thick. If plastic, I would have to make a mold of them first to get a wax. If you have a picture and can tell me the size I can give you an estimate. Be prepared though, the lost wax bronze process isn't cheap.

Just thought that I would bumb this thread. I just finished another set of crazy video game swords for the same guy.
I am the one who made both of those blades. You still have the molds...I still have an extra set of blanks. Why don't we do another set?

So who made the blades? I'm confused?

Bloodwraith, Baltimoreknife made these two blades for Travis: Here is the eagle sword after I etched it and put on the bronze pieces: Here is the snake and cat sword after I put on the bronze pieces: Travis had someone else wrap the grips on his two swords. All I made for those two was the bronze fittings and I etched both sides of the eagle blade to Travis' specs. Then I made these two blades, made a second set of bronze fittings, did an etching I liked better, and wrapped the grips for myself. To summarize... there is a set of pop swords which Travis has for which I made the fittings but Baltimoreknife made the blades. Then there is the slightly smaller and slightly different shaped set (which I am shown holding) that I made entirely myself. Matthewstagmer, I'd be happy to make you another set of bronze fittings...if you'll stop confusing people about my work

Ah right now I am not confused anymore.
Matthew: You do beautiful work, how much do you charge for blades like that?
Bro B: Your casting is just exquisite as I have said in the past.
I am glad the confusion is cleared up.

Well I can tell you tat I didnt charge enough for the first set I would do just the blades again for $800. Even that is cheap. Big blades tear up my shoulders when I grind. I had about 3 days in grinding the last set. I had been working on a set to cast myself. We have quite the casting set up here. Now that I know that there are molds out there I might hold off. wink wink*
