Nah, I will just ask atrixnet to send his wife after you.. ..Really though, just because a sword is small and light doesn't automatically mean its a girly sword.

Nah, I will just ask atrixnet to send his wife after you.. ..Really though, just because a sword is small and light doesn't automatically mean its a girly sword.
You mean that atrixnet's wife is creepier than Hermann?!? That's not very kind, WhiteFeather... Concerning small light swords: in fact, I agree with you, and much more than you think : I LOVE ko-kats, and two of my favorite cutters in my collection are... my Hanwei ninjato and my RDP kokat. We can't say they're heavy swords! but 2 effective "pocket" cutting machines. Sometimes, the smaller, the tougher Plus, I'm aware that a lighter sword with a well-thought geometry and handled by a skilled person can cut heavy targets with no problem. For exemple, I'm sure you can handle bamboo with your Feilong shobu with no problem. Finally, you WhiteFeather have discovered my dark secret... I'm in fact a girly sword collector. May I have a hug now? Attachments:

Herman is a little stiff in the bones these days, gotta send someone younger , prettier, and a bit more agile. And if you are picking on ladies...whats more appropriate than a lady being sent to get you.? Its ok. I'm not offended. But I felt like pointing that out though....small lighter swords ARE FUN. I love my wakizashis. And my main training swords are on the lighter side of the spectrum. The Feilong Iwa Shobu isnt mine. I had to send her back The Hanwei Lion dog would probably be too big and heavy for someone of my size. Even though I did own a Nanbokucho Raptor for a little while, for Just because.

"Herman is a little stiff in the bones these days" But he's got style. " if you are picking on ladies..." I'm perfectly happy with the one I have at home. 12 years of happiness, to be precise. But thank you for that nice attention. "Its ok. I'm not offended. " Cool. Cause it was not my purpose to offend you, nor any female member here. I mean it. "small lighter swords ARE FUN." 200% agree with you. " And my main training swords are on the lighter side of the spectrum" Nobody's perfect. (Just joking!!) " The Feilong Iwa Shobu isnt mine. I had to send her back " I always knew Josh was a sadistic person. "The Hanwei Lion dog would probably be too big and heavy for someone of my size. Even though I did own a Nanbokucho Raptor for a little while, for Just because." That Raptor didn't fit to you cause of its size, or simply didn't please you? @ Mikeeman :you peeping tom!!

No no no no. You got the wrong idea. My wife isn't creepy. She's deadly. The most lethal assassin. I call her the black mamba. She wears a yellow and black Bruce Lee jumpsuit and she's coming after you. ... so it was an appropriate use of the reference.

Didn't the father of Musashi Myamoto (sp?) use short and thus light swords? IMO, it is nice to have a mix of sword lengths and weights. Prevents the S.O.S. syndrome. I think Atrixnet will end up with an enjoyable mix of swords. btw, in the above videos, that sword looks like it has an unusually wide blade. Performance cutter? RinC p.s. Don't know if my wife is creepy or deadly, never asked....to much afraid of her. :-)

Wikipedia:
So that would be the long+short sword combo, and of traditional size and thickness for his historical period.
I'll do more research and get back.

Nope. Too late. I'm offended. Uhhh. Hold on, I forgot what I was offended for. Hey look, a post! Hi Mikeeman! I hope you enjoyed the photos. Sounds like adult ADHD (cause I have it) - here I was thinking my hands were big at 4" across ! - hey!, new contest, how big are your hands ? look a Koala !

"Old swords were sharp. This sword is sharp. Sounds historical to me."
That was my favorite line! Loved it! (but then my sense of humor may be due to past head injuries....) RinC
p.s. All these L.D. comments inspired my, on my last (promised the wife...really!) sword buy...to ask Huawei for a 28 1/2 inch blade that is shaped for medium to hard targets. (whatever that turns out to be :-))

I had to send her back In my hands the Iwa looks like a pretty heavy sword but you made it look like a light trick cutter. Shows right there it mostly comes down to experience and skill. -Josh ps- the guy doing the awesome cuts above is also an extremely talented sword polisher from the Czech Republic. He polishes many of Pavel Bolf's blades among others.
