10 Best States for Knife OwnersTied for First Place: Alaska / Arizona / Kansas / New Hampshire / Tennessee / Utah Second Place: Georgia Tied for Third Place: Arkansas / South Carolina / South Dakota Law-abiding knife owners face no restrictions on the knives they can own or carry in Alaska, Arizona, Kansas, New Hampshire, Tennessee and Utah. In all these states only the criminal misuse of a knife is illegal. In Georgia, the only restriction is that knives carried are limited to a 5-inch blade. All of the states in First and Second Place have enacted Knife Rights' knife law preemption bills. Preemption stops local jurisdictions from passing ordinances more restrictive than state law, preventing a patchwork of local laws that can trap unwary citizens. Arkansas, South Carolina and South Dakota have no knife restrictions at the state level. However, these states have not yet enacted knife law preemption, so towns and cities in these states are free to enact restrictions greater than state law. Knife owners need to be wary in that regard. - See more at: www.kniferights.org/index.php?op ... 5Zxry.dpuf

If you have a GA CCW, the restriction doesn't apply.

In Kansas any length and knife type (save for shuriken) is ok to conceal on your person, no permit required. At certain lengths AZ demands open carry. Not sure about your other first place ties.
For Kansas knife laws look up house bill 2033

Kentucky, any "ordinary pocket knife or hunting knife" is considered legal to carry under the state concealed weapon laws without a permit but w/o preemption so localities can adopt their own regulations.

"6. Boston, MA (2.5-inch blade carry limit, including in any vehicle)"
There are a number of exceptions to this ruling I am curious as to the source of the list.

At least, you guys don't live in France... here, our finger nails are almost the only weapons we are allowed to possess and carry on streets...

California, all things being considered, has pretty good knife laws. Some counties are strict (LA, SF, etc.) but most counties in CA have very lax knife laws.

I've had a knife since I was 5 years old, it was a right of passage (or something like that). That was a long time ago, and in all that time I used a knife many times as a tool and as a weapon Never! Mankind has enjoyed the benefits of a sharp tool long before the wheel was invented or fire was understood. Man has not evolved enough to go without a knife... Look at the cromagnon's that enact this ridiculous prohibitive legislation.
Caveman: Without a knife how would he get through the tuff animal hide for his lunch?
Modern man: without a knife how do we get through the infernal %$#! plastic &$#@@ packaging that covers every %$#@! thing we buy?

I work in an office cube farm and I am apparently the only person there who carries a pocket knife. You have no idea how many times a day I get asked to open a package for somebody.

Heck, I work in a retail store and I'm apparently the only one who keeps even a basic box cutter.
...and two or three other knives for other purposes.

Yeah, I hear ya, I'm the go to guy if you need a knife, but I'm always the one they think will go all stabby...jeeze. If I were going to go that route, we all know you have to memorize everything on 'Dexter'

The reason I didn't put up the source in the OP is because kniferights.org can be considered a little too political/reactionary by some. Thanks for adding the link (and the other links too) in your response.
