OMG, WTF is that? - they call that a hot peen? It's a tang end swimming in a sea of glue, far inside a gaping bronze hole. It cant be peened because it's recessed below the bronze casting and if anyone tried hitting it they'd hit the bronze first. There is totally zero contact between the tang and the pommel, other than via the glue. Shame! I can't believe no one picked this up in this thread. And I'll note Hanwei used to be the same (I don't know if they still are??). Here's a pic from my old review circa 2007. The pommel just slid right off under it's own weight when I started reshaping it and it got hot.

Wow. That's just...wow...
I'm not a maker or smith or anything, but I would be DAMN scared to even dry handle that sword like object, especially a viking sword...
This finally pushed me over the fence. I was willing to give DSA a try before, but now I'm going to be sure to steer clear of their products.

Paging all the Darksword apologists! Please report to the Sword Review forum, and be sure to bring your strawmen and special pleading fallacies! Word. Makes you wonder how the apologists think this many lemons on swords at that price is worth defending. If they actually QC their stuff for shipping them, which is apparently their only job, their name would be better

everytime I think DSA looks good I can just do a quick search on google as to why buying one would not be a good idea

You know who I feel sorry for at DSA? Those poor interns. Every time one of these bullsemprini corner cut swords come to light an intern gets fired. :D
Been saying it for years and will keep saying. If you buy DSA it is like playing Russian roulette except with a fully loaded gun.

Well, IMO...with all the love DSA gets...it's like beating a dead horse. Ya do it long enough, and its FUNNY.
I do feel bad for the company though, close scrutiny loses them a lot of business that could be solved with better QC.
