One more question John. What would be your first choice between Higo and Wind&Thunder in terms of heavy cutting (triple tatami, tatami with a bamboo core and bamboo)?

One more question John. What would be your first choice between Higo and Wind&Thunder in terms of heavy cutting (triple tatami, tatami with a bamboo core and bamboo)? Sorry for the late reply, I just noticed your question. That would honestly depend abit on your experience cutting. If you have some experience and good technique the Higo would be my choice. For mats, especially futomaki, the Higo.I primarily cut very hard bamboo and have had no problems with the Higo I bought. However if you are not experienced with cutting bamboo Id have to recommend the W&T.Ill add tho that I have seen a W&T take a set on bamboo, in class, with a bad angle and alot of power.

" I have seen a W&T take a set on bamboo, in class, with a bad angle and alot of power." The more I practice backyard cutting, the more I think that shibori and edge alignment are sometimes MORE important than the type of steel or even the geometry of the sword...

Many thanks for your reply. This is somehow what I thought. Handling W&T can be quite demanding though thinking of its weight and POB. I handled one and I liked the feeling. I hope I can buy one in the near future

Frankthebunny I didnt know if you made modifications to the blade or not... Hi mkandersen1123, I don't normally mod the swords before selling them but I do check every single one before it goes out to make sure it's in top condition. Of course, I would be willing to work with a client to customize the sword upon request. Depending on my schedule at the time, more than just wrapping the tsuka may be possible. I am also offering pre-orders for a discounted price. There have been issues lately with regulations in China regarding swords/shipping, etc. but I am hoping to receive a new shipment in November. -Josh
